Design your DREAM Saturday morning cartoon lineup

Okay, sleepyheads, here’s the scenario: You work at a TV station as the newly hired Saturday morning cartoon programmer. The station’s owner (you’re warm, supportive, r-i-c-h uncle) has given you carte blanche to air any cartoon you wish, from 7 a.m. till noon. You can choose from any cartoon ever made. Got it? Let’s go.

7:30-8:00 Dastardly and Muttley in their Flying Machines
8:00-8:30 Jonny Quest (the original series)

*I’ve seen character mock-ups for this one. Dawn is in it, even though it’s set during Buffy’s high school period (so it’s all imaginary continuity). Check it out at www.buffy-animated.com .

Johnny Quest (original)
Thundarr the Barbarian
Dungeons and Dragons
Josey and the Pussycats
Star Blazers

Blast! I can’t believe I forgot to put The Real Ghostbusters on there, somewhere. (But not “Slimer!” I hated that crudely animated little rat of a spinoff.)

It’s bad enough that I had to bump Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego? and Mr. Wizard to Sunday morning…

What? Not ONE mention of Hercules? Or He-Man ?

You guys suck.

You would be ripped to pieces by irate parents.

Can’t believe no one’s mentioned Thundercats or Schoolhouse Rock.

Bucky O’Hare & Ghostbusters!

How could I forget? :smack:

Man, I am still too tired to work out a whole schedule, but my dream schedule would have to include Jackie Chan Adventures. My favorite cartoon on tv. Now, since I could include anything, from the past or present, I am going to have to think about this a little longer.

Well, obviously, one would need a “Best of Adult Animation” at night with well-placed disclaimers. Family Guy would be a perfect fit, and I’d put The Simpsons in there too. Everyone needs The Simpsons. Futurama, and probably some others. Ren and Stimpy (early Krisfaluci-era and some of the Games ones-some of them were funny), Rocko’s Modern Life, and Invader Zim-they aired on a kids’ network, but they found their cult following with adults. Nice little night or something, I would think.

I couldn’t limit it to cartoons:

7-8- Fat Albert
8-9- Bugs Bunny/Road Runner
9-10- Land of the Lost/Sigmund & the Sea Monsters
10-11 Hong Knog Phooey/Bullwinkle
11-12 Pee-Wee’s Playhouse
