Desperate Housewives 11/7, Or, Does Anyone Want to Talk About This Show?

According to this week’s TV Guide, the Mary Alice storyline will wrap up the end of this season. Brenda Strong (I think she plays Mary Alice??) will narrate the entire season. I haven’t heard if they’re planning on using her after that though.

Because she’s all wet and limp.

You’re welcome.

Thank you for posting an UNBOXED SPOILER. I know I appreciate it and I’m sure many others will as well.

You consider THAT a spoiler worth whining about?

and you make it a point to correct someone’s thanks because you posted the same thing I did, just 5 minutes earlier?

Take it easy, Otto.

My guess is that his feelings are genuine and in the end he’ll leave the mystery-man-with-a-gun business to settle down with her, but in season 2 and beyond he may have to deal with some shady characters again or maybe just be the resident detective from now on without all the creepiness.

I agree with Ooner. Do you get equally upset when people reveal the page count in books that come out that you want to read, Otto? That wasn’t a plot point that was revealed, it was a plot length. You’re still going to go into the final episode not knowing what’s going to happen, with the same expectations/hopes of it being resolved.

I don’t think Rex is gay, but it’s easy to see how much Bree can irritate him and turn him off, and she doesn’t even realize it.

I’m concerned about Lynnette—she was shown drinking to self-medicate and now she’s taken some ADHD pills to get the costumes done. I hope she doesn’t spiral down. Glad she took on the PC version of the play and put it right again, though,

Mary Alice had quite a miserable time of it, from the looks of things now that she’s gone.

Did Carlos’s mom leave yet? I was distracted during the last bit of the show.

Given Bree’s ‘issues,’ I never even thought that far - I’d assumed it was something as benign as whipped cream or chocolate sauce or something, since the sheets would drive her crazy!

Heh heh heh. That bit ended with Carlos telling his mom that Gabi knew about her (the mom’s) gambling problem after the poker night with her (Gabi’s) friends – and we watched Juanita process the implications of that.

I’m guessing she (Juanita) won’t squeal on her (Gabi) directly – for one thing, she’d already told Carlos that she thought Gabi was clean, and she wouldn’t want to renege on that statement; and for another, I think she enjoys the cat and mouse game with Gabi far too much to do anything that unsubtle.

Regarding 61 minute shows, I don’t know about TiVo, but with Time Warner DVR, you can set it to record, and then edit both the begin and end time (as well as whether to record every episode and how long to save). And I agree with everyone here. It is a great show. Good writing, acting, and directing.

Not at all, which is why I didn’t “whine.” All spoilers belong in spoiler boxes. Period. Doesn’t matter if it’s major, minor or trivial. It’s a spoiler, it belongs in a spoiler box.

The correcting was a continuation of a running gag which amuses me, whether it amuses anyone else or not, about how my posts often seem to be overlooked.

So right back atcha with the taking it easy.

Had I known before the end of the first season of Twin Peaks ended that the Laura Palmer mystery was not going to be resolved, it would have affected my experience of the show. My “expectations/hopes,” if you will. Knowing that this plot is going to be wrapped up this season as opposed to carrying over will affect my experience of the show.

Either put spoilers in spoiler boxes or don’t post them. It’s not that complicated.

i am hooked on this show. it is amazing how fast the hour goes.

they did state that there were human remains in the “toy chest of death.”

i figured that zack pushed/shoved his dad who hit something ending up with the fat lip.

can’t imagine coming home to a surprize christmas decor.

susan and julie have more of a sister type relationship than a mother/daughter relationship.

i have liked bree from the start and like her more and more each week.

i was thinking rex (oy what a name) has messy fantasies. involving food, paint, something a bit difficult to get out of the rug.

bree looks nice but needs to pack on a few pounds. while you should know a person has ribs, you should not see them all in great detail.

Really? She gives me the willies, big-time.

Hmm, one of my early guesses on the human remains were that they were from another child in that family.

I am liking Gabrielle less and less with every episode. No matter how bad the MIL may be, exploiting Juanita’s weakness in order to have a roll in the hay with the boy-toy is extremely low.

Yeah, you can do that with TiVo too, but it means cutting off the first minute of whatever comes next, if you’re recording something on a different channel that runs things on time. :frowning:

You guys have missed the obvious kink for someone named “Rex”.

He wants it doggie style and he wants her to bark like a dog.

Regarding Rex and the sexual issues, I keep thinking back to the dinner party episode when Bree disclosed that Rex “cries when he ejaculates”. That must have some play into what his issue is.

I agree. Bree is seriously scary.

But, DAMN! She looked hot!

Liberal, how do you edit the beginning and end times on the Time Warner DVR? I have one and I don’t know how to do that. Thanks.

Count me as one of the people who thought Rex was going to say he was gay, but I hope that’s not what it is. Too cliche, frankly. I remember the actress who plays Bree from Melrose Place, so I keep expecting her to do something really evil. I think she’s just got OCD and needs to relax a little bit.

I’m just wondering if

The Young family changed their names and left town after Dana died. Mary Alice mentioned to the shrink that her “real name” was Angela.

I really don’t like Bree that much. I think she relies on compulsive housekeeping to keep her feelings at bay – a perfect outside to hide an imperfect inside. Or something like that. She’s done a good job of getting a tight psychological hold on her kids… I bet at least one of them resorts to substance abuse.

Robin

I sincerely apologize. I honestly didn’t realize that would be considered a spoiler. However, I will err on the side of caution next time.

My husband and I absolutely adore this show! There’s not a single character I dislike, or feel the need to pass judgment on based on their bizarre, self-centered, immature, self-loathing, etc., etc. behavior. They’re characters on a tv show and as such, are expected to do all kinds of wrong things or things we’d disapprove of – that’s what makes it entertaining. That said, I’m beginning to get extremely annoyed at how they’re so inconsistently portraying Lynette, particularly wrt her drinking and taking prescription medication (that’s not hers, without a prescription), seeing as how she’s supposedly a nursing mother! I “get” that a strong, successful businesswoman could find herself out of her element and frazzled by a gaggle of rowdy young boys. I don’t get how they expect us to buy that she’s too stupid not to realize the dangers to her daughter of ingesting drugs and alcohol. They seem to want us to forget that she has any children other than the twins, and it’s starting to be the one thing about this show that’s actually pissing me off.
