Desperate Housewives 12/19 [ Unboxed SPOILERS ]

That was how I took it – only I was reading the father as being kind of scarily out of it that he didn’t remember having asked three times.

Rationalization Alert
It’s not that she can’t get any. It’s that she can’t get any from whom she wants to get it.

We guys no all about how desperation can turn off the ladies. Works both ways. Combine desperation and pickiness and it’s a formula for many nights watching Lifetime.

I guess she is now free to spend her time guilt-free making pageant costumes and hanging with her friends. Unless she wants to feel guilty about the boodles of cash spent on snotty private schools and nannies.

Don’t get me wrong…I like Lynette.

(…it’s just TV it’s just TV…)

I took it to mean she was “punishing” him for lying to her. She trusted him and then he betrayed her, which is incredibly ironic considering what she’s done.

I was really feeling the Bree love in this episode. I knew Rex was in for it when she made sure he was feeling better before she laid into him.

And count me in the “How many kids does Lynette have?” club. I thought it was three until last night’s episode.

What amazed me was that they managed to find the only garment in North America in which Teri Hatcher does not look hot. That light blue thingy was atrocious.

let’s see.

a. maisy

she gets paid for her services. she seems to enjoy having the men under her power and the one-up on the wives. she glossed over that with guy 1 while changing the sheets for guy 2. she really enjoyed that she got bree back by dominating her husband. she has to have a camera somewhere in that room.

b. rex

he looked rather good for a guy who had heart surgery. most people end up in icu for a bit. the man knows who he married. he should have known what bree would do if she found out about the afternoon delight.

c. bree

good grief, i enjoy bree. the look on her face after gab. stored a “few things” in the garage. wait until she figures out exactly how many men maisy is involved with!! that should be fun.

d. paul

i figured he didn’t know what else to say to zack. he seems glad zack is alright, not so glad zack is in the house. people will push food or bev.s when they don’t know what to say or do.

there seemed to be something “not right” on the passport. i’m not sure where they were going with this. slave labour seems to be a really weird charge. money laundry or financial shenanigans would seem to be more plausable.

i can’t believe we have to wait for 3 weeks for the next installment.

Um…did they write Mama Solis out of the show and forget to tell anyone? Is she just going to stay in a coma indefinitely?

And why would someone put their passport in a secret hiding place? (assuming they weren’t expecting to be arrested)

I’m thinking one of two things. Mama Solis is either going to die quietly, or she’ll live and be brought back to wail at her son’s trial.

As for the hidden passport, lots of people I know do that, mostly so their passports don’t get lost or given away or whatever. (No joke; my friend’s grandmother lost her passport when she gave away a small jewelry cabinet that had her passport in a bottom drawer. She did get it back, though.)

Robin

I don’t think there’s any significance to not having seen Mama Solis this week – at this point, there are so many plot lines going on that they can’t do all of them every week. Mike Delfino didn’t appear for a single second last week, for instance.

Well, now I’m not as sorry that I missed that episode.

That was my impression, too - she referred to them as ‘clients’ as she was rushing the first guy out when Rex came a’knockin’.

Yep Maisy is a big 'ole whore. I’m willing to bet that’ll come out in the divorce proceedings. Madam Maisy will have a whole lot more to worry about than Bree’s pity.

That’s a lovely family portrait they kept doing close-ups on

Lemme get this straight: Rex goes a-whorin’ with a dominatrix? With Bree at home?

I don’t think so. Why would a man who is so pissed off at not being able to control anything at home see a dom, in a situation where he can’t control anything? It beggars belief.

That, and most men involved in dom/submissive relationships aren’t doing it for the sex.

I won’t get too into this, since it would be a whole other thread…

But you might be very surprised (pleasantly or otherwise) to find out how many men very like Rex would most certainly go to a Dom.

I am not a head doctor  I don’t ask why they want it/like it/need it. If I may speculate, though - he married and loves Bree because she does control things, and he actually loves it - it just does not carry over into the bedroom. That’s why he still loves her: she’s almost there! He just doesn’t seem to know how to put it into words… he lashes out and calls her controlling, etc, but he doesn’t seem to know how to tell her “I need you to be even more so.”

Not without sounding like a total “freak” - and to darling, appearances-are-everything Bree, what could be freakier? At least as far as we, the audience, and Rex knows - but no matter how uptight (nay! often the more uptight!) somebody may be, we can’t know or understand their sexual needs/thoughts/preferences/desires unless they come right out and say so. Bree may love it - but she’d never admit it out loud. Someone might hear her!

now a while back rex wanted to have a sex therapist work with them on thier relationship…

golly gee, i wonder who?

I think Bree is going to give Rex exactly what he wants - total domination. She was already on to this before, she just didn’t know exactly what it was Rex couldn’t communicate that he wanted. Now she knows, even if we didn’t see Maisy tell her, doesn’t mean she didn’t.

She is a Desperate Housewife, and she’s not giving up on this marriage yet. She has no interest in taking all Rex’s money. She’s only concerned with having at least the appearance of a perfect marriage, and if that means handcuffing Rex & spanking his naughty little fanny, that’s what it’ll be. She’s going to give him all that he wants, and more.

I am not a psychiatrist, but the relationship may be similiar to the behavior of “cutters”, people who injure themselves, not because they enjoy pain, but because they can control the physical pain, whereas their emotional pain is out of their hands. Rex is a top from the bottom, Maisy dominates him, but he controls their relationship. Handcuffs or scarfs, boots or stilettoes, it’s his choice, not hers.

Interesting that he relinquishes the decision-making and let Maisy decide for him…

“Handcuffs or scarves?”
“Whatever.”

… he relinquishes somes choices because he is indifferent to them. He’s very definite on others:

“Boots or stillettoes?”

(Breathlessly) “Stillettoes.”

Ahhh yes, I did forget that. It made my hubby cringe
