Desperately seeking white noise...

So here’s the thing. I have trouble sleeping absolutely all my life, and have presently reached a kind of stable situation with it. Part of it involves sleeping with two fans on all the time. This Christmas, however, we are flying to Denver rather than driving. that means that I’m NOT!! packing two fans in my luggage! Here’s my question. Is there is a white noise generator that is LOUD-- yes, I mean really LOUD. The standard ones are not going to cut it. It has to be at least as loud as a window air conditioner, and most of them aren’t. All help appreciated!!

Could you tune a radio to static?

Radio noise tends to be crackly, especially if there’s a lightning storm within a few hundred miles.
Get yourself a portable CD player, and a white noise CD.

Use a ‘standard’ white noise generator as the source and feed (wire/plug) it into a small power amp. Set the sound (noise) level to suit yourself!

Yep, a radio is too uneven. It has to be absolutely even noise. If I start packing power amps, though, it does seem as if I might just as well pack a fan. And a white noise CD (good idea, btw,) well, the problem with that is, it would only last so long.

I did check out the white noise CD’s. (Too bad I can’t edit posts!!) Could those be set to play on loop??

Not a POWER amp, just a small one or even a small radio if you can ferret out the input to the internal amp. Try/call RS for help.

Many (most???) CD players will let you repeat a CD or a track unattended for days on end.

Here is a description of sound machine available at Brookstone.com Perhaps with the “record your own sound feature” you could duplicate the sound of your two fans running
I have an older version of a sound machine and it can be played quite loud.
