My family and I got to go to a sneak preview of this last night. We thoroughly enjoyed it. More minions (without taking over the film), a decent plot, and fun characters. It’s not quite up to the first movie, but worth the time. We did not see it in 3-D, but there were some things that would probably be pretty good that way.
And the minions singing “I Swear” was hysterical.
I took my kids last night too. Everyone enjoyed it, but it wasn’t as funny or touching as the first one - this one’s not based on the three girls. They flirted with but didn’t cross the line of too much Minions. Minion Isaac tending bar knocked me out of my seat. Ultimately I think it came down to El Macho though - he just wasn’t as good as Vector.
We saw the 3D version, and I think it was worth it - I’m a fan of 3D though, so take that for what it’s worth…
I knew that was in the movie but when it happened, I laughed so hard I cried. Clearly the funniest bit in the movie and it got a great laugh from the crowd. My favorite line was when the little girl was singing the “K-I-S-S-I-N-G” song to Gru and he told to stop with the song of lies.
I thought it was a good movie and the bits with the minions was very funny but I wonder how the movie would have turned out differently had Al Pacino been El Macho instead of Benjamin Bratt. Bratt was fine, but Pacino is Pacino.
I have to admit, I’ve never been a fan of these types of movies. I’ve only ever went for my kids’ sake.
Despicable Me had me in stitches. I thoroughly enjoyed that movie. Can’t wait to see this new one. Only this time I’ll have to go it alone as my kids have “out grown” them.
I just watched the original Despicable Me and loved it.
“Read us a story, pretty please?”
“The physical appearance of the please does not matter.”
We saw it today and loved it. Accidentally went to a 2D showing, so, Yay! Excuse to go again!
I laughed out loud and even threw my head back a couple of times, so definitely worth the ticket price.
I wanted to see purple macho turn into a macho minion though. That would have been excellent. Also, Margo needed to humiliate the boy somehow. I’m betting there’s a great scene on the cutting room floor.
My only real gripe was that Lucy moves too much like Vector. It got a bit creepy after I noticed it.
In Despicable Me 3 I hope Vector somehow gets off the moon and attempts to seek revenge.
The movie was a lot of fun – not as good as the first, but good enough. It’s hard not to be charmed by the minions.
Loved it, just not quite as much as the first. The chicken stole the movie. Edith didn’t have much to do. I thought Lucy would be Dr. Nefario’s long-lost daughter, so was pleasantly surprised when that didn’t turn out to be the case.
Sheeps butt. Yeah I laughed.
