"Detective" Software

Every now and then I get one of those spam e-mails telling me about a software program that’ll help me get the “goods” on anybody. I got to thinking about it, and I can’t see how the program could really deliver what it promises. I mean, if it could, then a stalker could get someone’s license plate number, enter it into the program and go from there. So, what does the program really do? Anyone know? (Not that I plan on buying it anytime soon, I’m just curious.)

All those spammers are, are just
a lot of dirty liars, and thieves.

You gotta flame them raw
to let them know that you don’t
accept their mail and their trash,
flame until they learn that spamming
is wrong.

Or if you have your own mail server,
such as a Linux box, set your
/etc/mail/access file to bounce
their (domain) (e-mail address) (IP number)
from which the mail originates
so they will get a ‘no such user’ bounce,
therefore they think you’re no longer
at that e-mail address and they will
take you off the list, if they don’t take
you off the list, you still won’t get
their rubbish.

Uh, yeah. Thanks. I think.

This software organizes the sources found on the Web; various “find people” sites. It will also include information on using public records but will not include online access to them.

They will direct you to fee-based services which apparently have access to information which is difficult or impossible to access. I once had them get me the unlisted number of the landlord of a property which had noisy tenents. Cost me thirty bucks.
