First trailer. Set 2 years after Human Revolution, Adam Jensen is back.
I never asked for this.
Wonder which ending of HR they’ll make canon?

I believe there’s one clear answer to that question;
The one where Malik lives.
Not hating it so far, but it sure doesn’t look like you’re expected to do a stealth no-kill playthrough. Might as well be Cyberpunk 2077.
Hmm. I expected eventually something would come along that would make me buy new gen. This might be it.
Hiding under a desk , watching a red blip get far enough away doesn’t make for the most exciting trailer, you have to admit.
The interesting bit was that in the trailer, it looks like Adam has a number of upgrades that would make it easier to do a frontal assault. He appears to have a built in gun in his hands, now, and also seems to be able to armor himself against incoming damage. Of course, it shows later in the trailer that he seems to have a built in taser.
Anyways, it’s just cutscenes. It will be interesting to see the actual gameplay. One interesting bit - there seemed to be a level set in London in the daytime. I wonder if this game will actually have daylight levels this time around.
The pacifist game option people are vocal enough that I think there is no way that they will skip that. It’s just a trailer.
I didn’t see her, but that’s not an ending, just a choice. They were basically:
[ol]
[li]Send Darrows message revealing the conspiracy.[/li][li]Blame augmentation.[/li][li]Blame human extremists.[/li][li]Blow the facility up.[/li][/ol]
There are several parts where Adam is floating in water. Does that mean he survived the last ending? I don’t know. Probably not #1.
Mine was one of many, many pacifist runs which ended at that part.
The most prominent complaint about Human Revolution was the boss fights that took out the pacifist choice. That was addressed in the DLC. I can’t imagine they’d take out pacifist choices now.
Heads would roll if they even considered making a deus ex game without stealth/hacking components.
It can be done. Note that exploding robots that kill bystanders do not affect the pacifist rating. You have to be fast, and perfect, but with some practice it’s not too difficult to save Malik without directly killing anyone. Make sure you have taser ammo and energy bars.
Sorta. The DLC allowed you to take out the bosses without fighting them directly (i.e., using hacking or whatever instead). But you still had to kill them, which isn’t exactly pacifist.
The original Deus Ex arguably had the same problem–it was virtually impossible to pass Anna Navarre when escaping from UNATCO, since she held the key to an unbreakable lock. Supposedly it’s possible to get her to unlock the door for you when running away from a grenade, but I was never able to do it. Every other boss encounter can be escaped from.

Or they could do like with Invisible War, where they sorta blended all three possible endings.
At the end of Deus Ex, you could merge with Helios, ally with the Illuminati, or blow the place up. Basically, turn yourself into a machine god, keep the Illuminati in power, or send humanity into a dark age. All three of these outcomes happened in IW.
So, I could see something like:
No you don’t.
Uh, what?
I’m not talking about the Missing Link DLC, which added a new boss that indeed you didn’t have to kill. Lawrence Barrett still does the grenade thing and you have to stab him. Yelena Fedorova still bleeds to death. Jaron Namir still dies in the end.
Maybe there are some bugged solutions that I’m not aware of, but the new (non-combat) solutions they added with the Director’s Cut edition still ended up with dead bosses using the straightforward approach.
I’d guess that 99% of the people that just say “Deus Ex DLC” mean Missing Link, so I’m sure you can imagine my confusion.
I’ll have to take your word for it. The single biggest feature of the Director’s Cut DLC was the reworked boss fights. They were a big improvement, but even so there was no true pacifist path.
I can see the dilemma. You can’t just leave these powerful guys running around, causing mayhem. My solution: since they’re mostly robots from the neck down, you can just wreck up their body. Save the head and connect it to a little life support platform. Keep it on the desk in your apartment.
Adam Jenson can’t be back. He died along with everyone else on Pangaea when it sank beneath the waves. This must all be a virtual reality simulation created by Eliza Cassan.
