GO… just for The Summerfest Experience™.

Be sure to go early and see lots of the free music: numerous stages of good tunage. You can get some food (the “Gator sausage with red beans and rice” is great, as are the ribs and the asian platters) and just wander past some great bands. And when you find something you like, you linger, and ask people who the band is. I’m usually surprised that it’s a band I’ve heard of but didn’t know they were so good.

e.g., one evening I walked past bands that I found out were The Roots, Spoon and Better Than Ezra (ALL with trumpets and trombones or tubas… coincidence? Hmmm…)

Another reason to go early is that you get there before everyone’s too drunk. It ain’t called Beer City fer nuthin’.

Thanks for the info.
Gotta urge, gotta purge cuz its out of control now.

"Reason: to tell you to go just to share some music with your kids! "

Yes, they like seeing grampa rock ( I am not a grampa yet, but have the gray hair).
It feels kind of weird wearing earplugs at a live show. I must, due to the damage I have done in the past.
I feel like I am wearing dark sunglasses at a movie, or covering all the food at a nice restaurant with catsup.
