DFW Dopers - Any rollerbladers?

and if so… where do you skate?

I’m perfectly competent at staying upright, but stopping is somewhat of a challenge, so I definitely prefer “relatively flat.”

I normally skate at Renner and 75, which is nice (when it has been swept), cool (because it’s heavily wooded), and not TOO crowded.

My only other criterion is that it not cross any streets, or failing that, at least not at the bottom of a hill. (It’s that stopping thing again.)

I live in Frisco, so, on top of all that, Renner is a bit of a haul from where I am. But I work in Irving, so I drive a lot anyway.

Who knows, maybe some of us could get together and laugh at each other’s outfits
Or maybe someone could teach me how to stop.

I’ve been known to roll the blades around, and I’ve been to the trail your talking about. Maybe we’ll run into each other some time.

Alas, I’m at a loss for any other trails in the area.

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

I have a pair of rollerblades. I have not even put them on in 5 or 6 years. At least!

However, you work in Irving? Las Colinas maybe? I think that makes like 5 or 6 people that work in this area?

Maybe we should do a Las Colinas Lunch Bunch!

Las Colinas is a bit hilly. I had a lot of luck years ago skating the DFW Airport ring road. but you are skating on the road…

Actually, yes, I do work in Las Colinas. I’m on Beltline, in between 635 and 114. I’d be up for lunch sometime!

Parrothead (and other DFW area skaters), there is an excellent club you should check out:

Pegasus Flyers Inline Skate Club

They skate all over Dallas and even travel to other cities to skate…a real nice bunch of people!

I’m in! I live in Richardson, but work in Valley Ranch, Irving…
