I mentioned at our previous Dopefest at Goldfinger’s that I would be performing in a show there this fall. Well, the show is almost here!
Time and Place: Goldfinger’s, Friday November 17th from 8 to 10 PM. You will want to get there earlier to get your meal ordered. I recommend a 7 PM arrival. map
I’m leaving today, but should be back in town by Thursday. I’ll try to check out this thread during the week and give you updates, but for right now, count me in.
AAAAAHHHHHHHH!!! Goldfingers and Dopers - what a country! Goldfinger’s has great food (so does Kosta’s on Greenville @ University). Oh to live in Big D again. Maybe if I am lucky I can drop down to Dallas and meet yall sometime. Have fun, drive safe, and watch out for any SWA flights coming in too hot. Wouldn’t want a 737 to spoil a dopefest now would we?
And the best Avgolemono I’ve ever had! Their fried cheese is spatacular - they bring it out and flame it right at your table. My 4 year old daughter enjoyed watching it being done at other people’s tables but when they flamed that thing at our table she screamed and it wasn’t Opa!
Have any of yall heard of the Irish Rogues? They are a sing-along Irish band, talking about a wild time. Drink, sing, pound on the able with ashtrays and glasses. We used to go see them when the Tipperary was still on Greenville. “Its all for me grog, me jolly, jolly grog, its all fer me beer and me tabaceeeee, I spent all me tin at the tavern drinkin’ gin so across the western ocean I must wander!”
Saw the Irish Rogues last weekend at the Texas Renaissance Festival, which (in mine and most others’ opinions) beats the hell out of any RenFaire here in DFW. They’re pretty cool, but I’ve been jaded by the whole Irish thing by one too many insane irish ex-girlfriends.
Aglarond was there when I got there, but I had managed to tell JimB before I left. I tried to call you once, but I ran out of time. If psiekier went there I have no idea - however, if he stayed he would have had to have been at the bar and everyone I saw there either belonged to someone or was a regular.
