For those in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, can you tell me about the gasoline situation there, please? I was planning on going to Irving today, but gas pumps here are being shut down due to the run on fuel and lack of more getting brought in. Is it the same there? Are stations being shut down there? Is the supply running out? Getting there and back here is not a problem at first look, but I would like to fill up there before heading back here, since once back I may not be able to get gasoline here for a few days and don’t want to be without. I have a full tank now that will last me well over a week, but if I deplete that going to Irving and back, I may not have enough till service resumes here.
Please advise, and thanks in advance.
I don’t know about Irving. But as I came down US 75 through Plano (east side of the metroplex) gas stations were open, no lines. The 7-11/Citgo station at US 75 and Spring Creek has regular unleaded for around 1.39 a gallon.
Last night the gas station near my house in Allen (Custer and McDermott area) was swamped, even though the prices haven’t gone up, and aren’t going to. People are just panicing. I drove a mile down the road to another station (I actually needed gas, I’m not worried) and it was deserted. Filling up shant be a problem.
Dobbinaire, things are fine in the Mid-Cities as far as I can tell. Same price as yesterday, when I filled my car (which I did because I was on fumes).
Neat to see that there ARE Dopers close by, though!
I got a report of price gowging in Oklahoma. Over $3 a gallon. From reliable. However, I live South off I-45, things are normal. Also, I saw a flash across the bottom of the t.v. screen with a phone number to report price gowging to. Does anyone have it? Please post the number if you get it, and please report the so-in-sos doing it.
Everything is fine in E. Dallas. At several stations that I went by this morning, the average price was around $1.39/gal. So, you shouldn’t have any problems.
Ditto for Irving and Las Colinas, dob honey. I filled up this morning… no lines, no shortages, no price-gouging.
HOWEVER…
The Sam’s Club where I fill up was charging three cents a gallon more than it was charging a couple of days ago. How dare those (unprintable deleted expletive) profiteers! I say we (profanity) well torch the (obscene gerund) place!
I posted and then waited a bit for answers. Looks but no immediate answers (that’s okay :)). Since if I was going to go and be on time, I called someone in Dallas for a report and he said things were okay. I left before I could check the board again. I indeed had no problems. Guess I just overreacted to the horrible situation.
I’m glad things aren’t as freaky as I feared. Let’s all keep our collective chin up.
Thanks again. Y’all are great! Looking forward to when I can meet with y’all again. I caught Zyada’s post, hopefully I will be able to make October. [sub]BTW my d’day is in Oct. :D[/sub]
