Did Rutgers kick him out?
Are there any consequences besides $11,000 restitution and thirty days in jail?
My feelings in the MPSIMS thread. I changed Dharun to [Ravi] in my quote block because I thought Ravi was his first name and he doesn’t deserve to be addressed by his first name by me.
Easy. He’s a convicted felon.
Deport him.
Miller, the two links are fairly easy to understand. I’m not getting into a pissing match with a Moderator. So, poke away to your heart’s delight, for I can promise you I’m not rising to the bait. You want to come in here without your Mod Hat on, I’ll be delighted to discuss why those two links work well together.
Carnivorousplant, it seems he withdrew.
Cool.
I’m sorry, I’m not sure if you’re mocking me or agreeing with my statement. ![]()
I’m agreeing with your statement, Sir. ![]()
What if I shoot you today and a year from now you commit suicide (let’s even stipulate that it’s because of injuries the shooting inflicted). Should you be prosecuted and sentence increased because of the suicide?
Individually, the two links are easy enough to understand. What I’m not getting is how they relate to each other, to the story in the OP, or to the post to which you were responding. I’m also not entirely clear on what you think I’m going to do to you if you respond to me, or what you think it means for a mod to have their “mod hat” on - I haven’t posted anything here with my “hat” on, so I’m not sure what behavior you want to see from me before you’ll respond.
Plus three years of probation. I’m guessing he had no prior trouble with the law.
So, low but about what I would expect.
He’s kind of a paranoid retard on this issue. Either that, or you personally scare him deeply.*
*Lord knows, I live in mortal fear of you. ![]()
Yeah, throw him in jail for a decade because he reminds you of the popular kids in high school who made friends easily! Sounds like justice to me!
Actually, this refers quite neatly back to my link. It isn’t because he was popular at Rutgers.
It was because he was loathesome in his behavior towards his roommate. Just as Mitt Romney was loathesome in his behavior towards his classmate ( hence the connection ).
He should be deported. India has a rich legacy of criminalization of homosexuals. See the second link in my post.
With a sentence like that he’s going to minimal facility, surrounded by other inmates with relatively short sentences as well that don’t want to do anything wrong that will lengthen their sentence, they just want to do their time and get out. So I don’t think he’s going to have that much of a problem.
If the reason they remind you of them is because they do the same immoral acts, then, yes, that is how it works. A harsher sentence provides a deterrent to others. I don’t think anyone thinks this guy will do this stuff again after all that’s happened to him. The question is, will a 30 day sentence make others think it’s no longer worth it?
I guess we’ll see.
EDIT: And I would prefer him deported, too, as long as we’re going to keep having stupid immigration policy. Let someone who can handle not being a bigot come in.
So, you’re saying we should deport Mitt Romney? I guess I can’t really argue with that.
I like you, Fenris. That’s why I’m going to kill you last.
Really? Let’s say you’re thinking of video taping your roommate. A sleezy thing to do, right? And you hear about his case in scenario A: Roommate kills himself, entire nation hates you, you get 30 days in jail, restitution order, and deported. Scenario B: Roommate kills himself, entire nation hates you, you get 10 years in jail, restitution order, and deported. If you stop long enough to consider ***either ***alternative, you’re not going to do this stupid thing. 30 days or 10 years isn’t the issue. Do you really think there’s someone out there who would say, “you know, that sounds like a giggle, and it would only cost me 30 days in jail, so what the hell?”
You’re talking to someone who won’t leave his mommy’s basement and doesn’t have any idea of normal social interaction–you’d have better luck getting one of those old ELIZA programs to understand that the entire country hating you is…y’know…bad. For BigTard, the “entire nation hates you” means "someone on the internet said something bad.
It’s really not worth trying to explain it to him.
Depends on whether the guy is a sociopath or not.
Maybe he’ll come out exclaiming it “was totally worth it!” and join the Phelps clan.
No, no, no. Don’t you remember ANYTHING from the Mod instructions? We eat the favored ones first, so they don’t have to watch the others being devoured.

What a travesty.
