DHMO - will Obama's EPA finally regulate it?

It’s time our Government did something to regulate the use of DHMO in the environment.

See here for more information: http://www.dhmo.org/facts.html

Please help get the word out! And let your Congressional representatives know that you are concerned about this issue!

The EPA already regulates it.

Hopefully, Obama won’t not regulate it. :stuck_out_tongue:

Man, I don’t get it!

What is today, Joke Day or something?

Write down the chemical formula and you’ll get it…

You’re getting away w/ this only because it’s April 1st.

Any other day, I’d excoriate you for belittling (by implication) legitimate chemical regulation.

Well, that’d be one of you.

I’ll give you another hint DMHO could theoretically be refined into nuclear reactor fuel.

And for underestimating the intelligence of Dopers. Hmmph.

Actually, I considered that. But then, thought I, this would also be a great test case to find out if the Google indexing had truly brought in a phalanx of morons as so many feared. And if it so happened that the aforementioned phalanx lost a nght’s sleep over it, who am I to question the wisdom of the Fates?

Only if it has already been “weighted”. But it makes a great coolant!

They use DHMO in nuclear reactors! Oh no!

I’ve been storing it at my house for years. It’s use is not heavily regulated in my area like it is in some states. I’m embarrassed to admit that I just dump it in the sewer when I’m done with it.

It was the number one cause of radiation dispersal at Chernobyl. I remember pulling up satellite images of it during the event. It’s highly explosive at certain temperatures.

Yeah according to the CDC 3,582 deaths due to DHMO poisoning occurred. Apparently it’s lethal when inhaled. 1 out of 4 of those were children under 14.

I think these arguments are all wet…

(a day late and a dollar short…I know)

It’s also the primary component of acid rain, you know. And high levels of it have been found in biopsied cancer tumors.

Oh, come on. Is this thread still limping along? This was a really funny joke back in 1993.
