Diablo 3 May 15th!

Thanks but I will just replay until I get enough money to afford better gear.

Where to I get Pages of Blacksmithing? Are they just random monster drops? Or are there specific places to find them?

ETA I see that they are Item level 31. Since I’m at 29, maybe they’ll start falling all over the place once I get to a certain level or quest, like gems and rings did.

ETA pt 2: OK, now I’m reading the comments, and it says they’re rare to drop in normal. Nevermind.

Anybody got some extras they want to drop me?

You’ll get them in Nightmare mode. Far more than you’ll know what to do with, in fact.

I’ve been grinding my level 51 Barbarian in Act III Nightmare. I think I’m getting to the point where I can move forward in the story now.

So far as I know, the only place in Normal where it’s even possible to get pages is Whimsyshire. But yeah, they’re pretty ubiquitous in NM. Once you get to Hell, pages disappear, and you start getting Tomes of Blacksmithing or Jewelcrafting instead. I think there’s something else again in Inferno, but I’m not there yet.

Last night I was able to buy 2 nice rubies and a nice emerald. Big help to my just through Nightmare DH.

I am making room in my storage, have some flawless square gems/square gems, and gear. Lanth#1701 I am online now no charge, it would be dropped on the ground/vendor if no one needs them

A kindly barbarian has helped me with some free space  The vendor value isn’t worth the sale, and the AH is spotty I would rather see real people using items.

RyJae was nice enough to load me up with awesome gems, and I’ve got like 30 people from the boards on my friends list, so if you need some gems send me a tell.

I have a lot of crafting materials I would just as soon part with. I have managed to sell off a lot of gems, but if anyone would like more, I have plenty.

I have about 200 Tomes of Secrets. If anyone is training their artisans, the tomes are needed past level 5 or so. Just let me know.

Hey, maybe someone can help me with this. I’ve got all the ingredients for the Staff of Herding except the plans I’m supposed to get from Izual. I’m on my last char I’m gonna be taking through normal for some time (Got one of each class), and I’d like to get it with her, but if I kill Izual and don’t get it, can I kill him again in a new game, or will he already be dead in the new game?

You have to log out, select “change quest” and change your quest to “Prime Evil – Begin Quest”, fight your way through the Silver Spire level 1 again, and then fight him again.

Have fun, it took me over 20 tries and 4 levels to get the stupid plans (then I got insanely lucky on the rest of the drops, including only 3 tries to get the Gibbering Gemstone).

Thanks a lot! Believe it or not I got the gibbering gemstone on my first playthrough ever :stuck_out_tongue: But the liquid rainbow took a while, maybe 25 tries. I’m crossing my fingers on this last one!

Did I mention that after I spent three days getting the plans, literally the next time I killed him I got the plans AGAIN? The Random Number Goddess is a callous bitch.

Up to what level is Normal Whimsyshire decent exp ya think? I’m 39 now and wondering if it’s even worth it to go gather the items.

The answer to that is undoubtedly different for softcore and hardcore. One notable feature of Whimsyshire is that it lacks ranged attackers (aside from mortar elites), which might make it much more survivable for certain characters.

That said, my first trip to Whimsyshire was at about that level, and it was both ludicrously easy, and I can’t remember getting any significant reward for it. Plus, of course, there’s no quest XP or gold there, either.

I finished act1 inferno today, and started working on act2. Even with my spiffy new million-gold weapon, act2 is a slog of corpse runs. I’d say I average 1.5 deaths per elite pack in act2, and I’ve only just beaten Maghda (so not too many of the invisible snake guys yet). It’s fun, but very frustrating.

My new Barbarian is up to Act 2 Inferno but not ready to progress yet. I’m working on improving his defences now, hopefully he’ll be ready in a day or two. He waltzed through Act 1 straight after Hell, although I did equip him with a nice weapon as soon as he hit level 60. It’s much more fun than my WD, we’ll see if I still think that when I get to Act 3, heh.

Have you given act2 a shot yet? I think the stories of extreme difficulty shift are largely exaggerated. It didn’t go from act1=hard to act2=impossible. It went from act1=hard to act2=really freakin’ hard.

For my Wizard it went from ‘hard’ to ‘nearly impossible and not worth continuing.’ I’m undergeared for Inferno, though.
