Diablo 3 May 15th!

i now finally understand why Charlie Brown kept trying to kick that damned ball.

I feel your pain.

What’s going on, are the servers down? The Blizzard forums went down just now so I can’t even pretend I’m at the party anymore. Let me live through you till the mailman comes tomorrow!

yup, yup. Error 300008. Error 3006. judging by past experiences, playing tommorow is the smart thing to do. i never learn.

My son says #error37 is trending on twitter. I quit trying to log in, I guess I’ll just go to bed and wait till tomorrow to log in. Why couldn’t they do a rolling start by time zone or put us in queue like they do in WoW?

Oh Blizzard, you little c-tease!

Well, looks like it was a good thing I didn’t try and stay up to play last night. :stuck_out_tongue: Not that I’m going to have much of a chance to play today either, since I’m flying out of here at noon. :frowning:

And so it starts, Game Breaking Bug Discovered in Diablo III

Link blocked for me.

Summary?

Meh.

You get locked out of the game permanently (until patched)?

That’s just a “meh”?

Il’d be furious.

Edit: Thanks for the summary, by the way.

I find it endlessly irritating that I’m locked out of playing a single player game because the multiplayer servers are down.

I don’t want to play MP. I want to play single player. I haven’t even gotten to start a character yet.

It’s just a "meh’ because it is far less exciting than, say, a huge gold or xp hack. Apparently it’s already been fixed, so “permanently” is not a very long time.

It’s still down.

The last update sounded… well, weird. Almsot panicked. “Urgent maintenance” is not a term normally associated with a simple big fix.

You’d think that Blizzard would be a little more solid on release.

You might think so, but their release history would likely lead one to conclude it wouldn’t go well.

I guess you might assume that they should have learned from past mistakes. Or that they would properly stress test their servers before launch. Alas, neither appears to be the case.

Ok, can someone tell me how to attack with the weapon I’m holding??? I’ve got a witch doctor and have a sword in my hand. He could attack with it at first but since level 2 he just holds the thing and shoots blow darts. I looked around online and it seems I’m not the only one who can’t figure out how to swing a sword or an axe.

Turn on elective mode in the options, drag the ability icon off the mouse button. You don’t really want to do this though.

You are attacking with the sword (or more likely, dagger) you’re holding. You’re just doing it at range, with added poison damage, and the sword looks like darts while you’re doing it. All damage you do depends on your weapon, even if it doesn’t look like it.

Aaaand the servers aren’t responding again.

ETA: And Blizzard’s websites are down.

Er, were they completely unaware that this was going to be a mildly popular game?
