i was looking at a webpage with music videos on it. it had links that said 56K, 128K (if that’s a real speed… i’m not sure.), and like one or two faster ones. i was wondering, what speed would cable (AOL Broadband) be so i can know which link to click on if i ever get the free trial of broadband i applied for.

Cable typically runs at a max download speed of 1.5 Mb/s. You can test your speed at http:/www.modemspeedtest.com.
512 kb, usually.
128 is ISDN.
Or rather here.
Just pick the highest one. If performance isn’t up to your standards, pick a lower one. There are really no set standard speeds for cable.
128k is common for ISDN, btw.
As their FAQ mentions, AOL Broadband is a service that is accessed through your local cable company’s equipment. Speeds will vary depending on what your local company offers. Around here 1.5 megabits per second is a typical downstream speed. This is about 30 times faster than a good 56k dialup connection.
Just click on the highest speed there, and if it is choppy or takes forever to download click on the next lower speed.
