Gibson is retiring. They are moving down in age from 66 to 63!
BTW, if you want to know who the audience for nightly news is notice the ads. Lots of drug ads for products older people use. Viagra, prostate drugs, etc.
They’re going to have the most softly lit network nightly news broadcast, that’s for sure.
I hope they didn’t sign a long term contract. She’s going to tank.

Why not use Bob Woodruff and Elizabeth Vargas as they had planned to do previously? Hell they could use David Muir. He does a good job weekends.
I think Diane Sawyer is terrible. I can’t stand watching her on anything. She has all the charisma of a doorknob. Katie Couric is almost as bad. Oh well, I guess I’ll be switching to Brian Williams.
Has Bob Woodruff recovered sufficiently that that would be a viable option? I think he’s great but his injury was horrific and I’d be a little surprised if he had yet recovered to the point where he could endure the rigors of a nightly anchor chair.
So two of the three major networks will be chaired by women. Heh, pretty cool. I hope Diane does alright. I do like her and will look in from time to time but in our household Brian Williams is and will continue to be a regular.

A week or 2 ago, during her GMA interview with the cast of thirtysomething, Sawyer thought OED stands for “Olden English Dictionary.”
So she won’t be sitting on Henry the K’s lap for this gig??

Diane Sawyer, Katie Couric. What hard hitting adoration of Obama can we expect now? Lots of it. Charlie kept asking questions instead of gushing.
There is now no difference between the pap you get from the ‘feel good’ morning news programs like Today and Good Morning America, and the new evening pap smear.
There is no reason to watch.
I really, REALLY can’t see it. Her “gravitas” is completely artificial, as are any of her other emotional states. ABC must have somebody cheaper who can do it better.
I’ll give her time to tank, then they can bring someone else in.
Where’s Thalia Assuras? Or Giselle Fernandez?
Anyway, this is hardly a new approach. Were Vargas & Woodruff much better? Or Charlie Gibson?
It is bad because you won’t be able to see her gams behind the anchordesk. I mean, is there any other reason to watch her?
