Dick Cheney = Admiral Christopher Pike?

I have been wondering what life is like for Dick Cheney. His health issues are fairly well known. One of the worst I personally have ever heard of:
5 heart attacks, blood clots etc. A total heart transplant in 2012. Following, his Dr. reportedly said “it would not be unreasonable for an otherwise healthy 71 year old man to expect to live another 10 years”. He’s 80 now and still alive, thanks to “exclusive” government health care.
FTR I despise the man, but with daughter Liz helping to expose the insurrection, I’m a bit conflicted and think maybe he’s only 95% bad.
But back to the above quote about being “otherwise healthy”?
He certainly was not. Is he just lucky?
I can’t get this picture out of my mind that he’s like Admiral Christopher Pike. The character from Star Trek. Totally broke down but kept alive by technology. Bought and paid for by the US taxpayer.
Is he calling the shots to someone?
I sure hope Liz gives us a return on investment…

I don’t know about Cheney, and do not wish to learn, but if all his health problems are related to the heart that has been replaced, he could be described as otherwise healthy. Blood clots can be catastrophic, or they can be near misses that leave no lasting damage.

I’m guessing that young Liz must have gotten those 5% genes from her mother.

Has he ever spoken out about the orange guy or the insurrection? I doubt he thinks murderous mobs hunting for vice presidents is cool.

See, socialized medicine does work!

Fuck Dick. Whatever Cheney’s life is like, he is unfairly blessed that it is not worse. Even thinking about him gives him more love than he is worth. He and his are nothing less than a malignancy on humanity. Frankly I am disgusted there was a physician willing to keep him alive.

And Liz is her own person acting 100% in self-interest. Just because she is aligned with the right side of history, don’t pretend for one second she gives a fuck about January 6 justice or even the life of US democracy. She doesn’t like murderous mobs invading her workspace, that’s the end of it.

Eh, he’s never going to be vice president again so he probably doesn’t care.

Well, maybe if we’re lucky, he’ll be played by someone else. Sean Kenney or Bruce Greenwood or Anson Mount instead of evil, heartless Jeffrey Hunter.*

  • No offense to the long-departed “I Was A Teenage Jesus” Jeff Hunter.

Cheney doesn’t mind that people in DC called him Darth Cheney behind his back. He’s cool with it.

But Vader achieved redemption. He turned away from the dark side when he threw Palpatine into a bottomless pit. Cheney has made no such atonement for his sins, and probably never will.

Recall, also, Christian Bale’s Golden Globes acceptance speech: “Thank you to Satan for giving me inspiration for playing [Cheney].” If Cheney objected to this, I’m not aware of it.

It is a shame that every US citizen doesn’t receive the same quality of health care as Presidents and Vice-Presidents.

I’m familiar with the Darth Vader reference, but I was guessing that he was in a high tech wheelchair by now (thus the Adm. Pike comparison).
I can’t find any reference for it though beside his back injury in 2009 so maybe a wrong assumption on my part.
I would never have guessed that he was still mobile.
Probably gets a daily IV of fetal stem cells or is sporting an exoskeleton.
Money solves a lot of problems.

I think that was TFG’s credo to visiting dignitaries…

I decided not to start a new thread about this, so I dredged up this one. Anyway, the man that Cheney shot has died at age 95.

See! Just wait long enough and GOP initiatives finally pay off.
