Dick Cheney had a heart transplant. Now he needs a brain transplant.

Dick Cheney was probably the most effective VP in living memory. He got stuff done for the administration. Stuff I didn’t like but man, did he get shit done.

Cheney got stuff done for his own agenda and that of the cabal he has been scheming with since the 90s. Bush was their instrument to attempt to create a new world order and to expand the powers of the Presidency. Luckily for all of us, he was only partly successful.

I imagine he’s still doing speaking engagements, just like all former POTUS. Some conservatives are so fucking lockstep they just don’t care, so they are more than willing to pay his speaking fees. Even though he has a terrible rep with liberals, there are still quite a few conservatives that defend his record.

Imagine whatever you like, of course, but he has done only a handful of small speaking engagements, nothing even close to what other former Presidents have experienced, by orders of magnitude. John McCain didn’t want him on the campaign trail, and Romney won’t even say his name!

Please, do show us some conservatives defending his record!

Pfui.

He happened to be in office when US intelligence found Bin Laden.

BS. They do nothing without orders. He gave the order to go in at great risk to his Presidency.

Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld gave the order to not go when they had bin Laden cornered in Tora Bora.

He didn’t “find Bin Laden”. US Intelligence found Bin Laden. Had the Iran hostage rescue been successful, Carter would be heroic.

As Commander in Chief he gave the orders to find him. Once found, he gave the order to kill him. No order, no kill. That order had to come from the top. Get a clue as to how the military works or at least do some basic reading on the mission. Geez.

Obama took the same risk that Carter did. He understood the consequences and still gave the order.

Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld on the other hand let him go.

See? Cheney does have a heart.

More like professional courtesy, I’d say.

In a jar.

So they quit looking for Bin Ladin at the end of each election and wait for the New Guy to tell them to find him?

You guys make it sound as though Obama saw him with binoculars from Air Force One and leaned out the window with a .45.

I would imagine that if they had failed, or the mission ended in disaster, you would be saying it was Obama’s fault, however.

Of course hot. Even if I hadn’t voted for the guy. I don’t blame Carter for the rescue not working.

Romney-Cheney 2012!!!

(A man can dream, can’t he?)

Just as long as Igor doesn’t pick out the one labbled Abby Normal.

You make it sound like a bunch of Navy Seals went out one night just for shits and giggles, invaded a foreign country, hunted down bin Laden, killed him, brought the body back and said, “look what we found.” Yea, right.

You obviously have no clue as to the magnitude of the personal, political and foreign policy implications of such a decision. The decision was to get bin Laden and keep the Pakistani’s in the dark. That the US got away with it and actually pulled it off is amazing. Credit goes to a lot of people but there was one guy that made the decision to “go”. On a moral basis, bin Laden’s blood is on Obama’s hands much more than the Seal that pulled the trigger. I have no problem with that. I would let it be on my hands. Still, it is profound.

When the Iranian hostage mission failed the Carter haters rubbed his face in it. When the Black Hawk Down incident occurred the Clinton haters said, “this proves that he is unfit to be Commander in Chief.” Les Aspin paid for the debacle with his job even though it was clearly determined later that the errors occurred on a local basis. It was not a failure of policy or meddling by the higher-ups.

The thing I really detest about the Obama opponents is that they can dish it out but can’t take it. Today’s political news is perfect proof of that. Romney has been running negative his whole campaign. He would say or do anything and will flip-flop on any issue. As soon as somebody goes negative on him he cries foul. Fuck him and his ilk.

Don’t lump in that group. I voted for him and will again.

Regarding decisions like that affecting elections:
Clinton had the chance to whack Bin Ladin. He was hawking with some royal family, and the drone would of course killed them all. Clinton didn’t do it, ostensibly because of the international implications of killing the royalty, but I wonder if he would have done it if he weren’t up for re-election and would be accused of “wagging the dog”.

Clinton did try to whack him. That’s what the “aspirin factory” incident was all about. They missed bin Laden by about 25 minutes. They failed and then tried to cover it up by saying that dangerous things were going on in the factory. Although there was a lot of noise made about bombing of an “aspirin factory” they weathered it an it died out.
