Did anybody else like the movie "Freddie Got Fingered"?

I liked Tom Green when he was doing his crazy show on MTV, and that’s why I saw the movie “Freddie Got Fingered”, rented it many times and once owned a copy.
It was gross and offensive but I could not deny that it made me laugh and I guess that is why I have seen it so many times. Amongst my friends it gets mixed reviews, either they loved it or hated it but very few “It was ok” type of feelings.
I think girls and women tend to hate the film more so than guys do. Did anyone in the doper community enjoy the movie enough to watch it multiple times like I did?

I’m not above watching “crapfest” comedy movies. I don’t even hate Tom Green. When his show first aired it was pretty damn funny.

Freddy Got Fingered though…wow. This was one of the few movies in my life that I just could not watch. I really really tried. I saw the first half, and the very end, but there for awhile in the middle I was just roaming around my house in a dazed trance, wondering how this talentless, witless, storyless, humorless piece of shit ever made it to print.

I barely even remember anything about the movie except how much I hated it. The only part that I vaguely remember that got a chuckle out of me was the animated scene with the zebra people when they were trying to find jobs and they saw a sign that said “No Zebra People” (or something like that.) Not really funny but put in the context of The Worst Movie Ever it was giggle-worthy.

Green’s antics were funny for about 5 minutes on TV before everyone knew who he was and ruined his skits. The funny thing about the show was how people reacted to the absurd things he did. Whether his shtick was funny or not was often irrelavent; it was the situation that made it funny. That element simply can’t be put into script form.

:smack: Irrelevant.

I’ve tried to watch it twice. I think the combined length of viewing was less than 10 minutes. Mind you, I like Bad Santa, so obviuosly I have strange tastes.

I’ve walked out of two movies in my life - You got it, one was Freddie…. I’ve demanted (and got) my money back at one - You got it, it was Freddie….

Not only was it repulsive (which can be humorus) but it was pointless and badly done and that trifecta is just too much of a bad thing for me.

I thought it was pretty amusing. Nothing I’ll buy, but I’d watch it again if there was nothing else on.

The previous tenant in my apartment had left behind a taped-from-cable copy of Freddy Got Fingered. I used the tape to record other things, but did watch a couple of minutes from the middle. It was the scene where Tom Green goes to the hospital to visit his injured friend, and winds up pretending to be a doctor when a woman goes into labor.

I turned it off before the actual delivery, which I’ve heard described as one of the film’s many low points. The bit where the struggling woman was shrieking in terror, demanding that Green’s character leave her alone and that somebody get a real doctor, was enough to convince me that I’d already seen too much and that there weren’t going to be any laughs here. It was like something out of a horror film, although even Rosemary’s Baby wasn’t that disturbing. I have a hard time imagining how any girl or woman could watch that scene and not hate the film.

no.

What was the other?

As for Mr. Green’s movie, I would suggest everyone read Ebert’s review, especially if you’re unfamiliar with the movie’s contents.

That actually indicates good taste with a fine sense of black humor, as Bad Santa is one of the best comedies there is.

As for Tom Green in Freddy Got Fingered, I was interested in the sausage scene of the movie, because it looked pretty surreal. But then I remembered how cruel he was to his parents on his show, and I vowed never to give him either my money or a spare testicle, and so I will never see this or any other film he’s in.

(I already screwed up by seeing Road Trip, but it was for free and I got to watch it at work instead of working, so it seemed all the benefit came to me.

The first time I started watching it I thought, “My god, this is horrible”.

But then I saw it with a few friends and, I don’t know, its kind of like watching a kid who got to make a big Hollywood film and deliberately made the stupidest piece of nonsense he possibly could.

Hell, it’s more entertaining (and less stupid) than Anaconda!

"My hooooooooves. Listen to my hoooooooooves. Cloppity-clop, cloppity-clop!"

“I’m the backwards man the backwards man, i can walk backwards fast as you can I’m the backwards man the backwards man, I can walk backwards fast as you can.”

I loved Freddie Got Fingered. I don’t remember why. Maybe I was drunk.

I actually liked it, in a “this is sooooo stupid and offensive”. The scene where he’s masturbating the horse is just over the top :stuck_out_tongue:

When I saw trailers for the film, I thought to myself, “My best friend will absolutely HATE this” and when it came out on DVD, guess who LOVED it? My friend, who is usually much more serious and deadpan than I am, liked it even more than I do.

I think it kind of harnesses the sophmoric aspect in some people. Of course, its really hard to offend me, so its not surprising I found it pretty funny.

“Daddy would you like some sausage?”
:stuck_out_tongue:

Wasn’t this one of Crunchy’s bullet films?

I can’t stop laughing now.

The disk was unplayable after the first hour, and we were all fine with that. I really liked his show, and “bad” comedies, but this was not good.
…not good.

Yes, yes it was. Link.
