Half lion half tiger. Pretty much the coolest animal in the world. Bred for its magical properties.

I saw it on the Today show on NBC. I was in awe of it’s size. Most certainly cool.
I’d also like to add that I think Matt Lauer is a tool.
I saw it on both GMA and Today (at the gym, multiple TVs… I’m not THAT much of a morning person that I’d be madly flipping channels at that time of day). Anyway, very cool.
I saw it this morning on Today. What a beautiful animal!
Gosh!
So can ligers produce offspring or are they like mules?
Now I want to see a Tigon.
The funniest part was that just last night my husband and I were talking about how much we liked Napoleon Dynamite and we were trying to remember the name of the creature he was drawing.
So this morning I see the Liger on TV and I realize that that’s it. I had to rush upstairs and tell my husband that not only had I remembered Napoleon’s favorite animal, it was real and I just saw one! It was a very exciting moment for me. Probably too exciting, now that I think about it.
Maybe I will! JEEZ!
What did he do, or is this just a general comment?
That’s a lovely animal, though. And of accidental pregnancy! Isn’t that unheard of?
I take it you have not seen all the liger-related threads and posts recently?
Just a general comment. He’s so damned smarmy and condescending. And don’t even get me started on Katie Couric. Ghastly.
You should get yourself a zonkey.
They ever take it off any sweet jumps?
I want a zony myself.
I’ve seen a liger in person, back when I was a wee Chick. He could have swallowed me whole, should he have wanted to, but he was pretty much a great big lap cat (The strong fence between me and him didn’t hurt my peace of mind, either).
This is pretty much the worst video ever made.
Well, no I haven’t. Apparently I’ve been missing out. I also just saw Napoleon Dynamite last weekend, so if I saw a liger thread before then, it wouldn’t have made a lick of sense to me.
Apparently they get that big because female lions produce a hormone during pregnancy that limits the size of the cubs. Female tigers don’t. So the feti aren’t constrained.
However it happens, they are some BIG cats!
Hmmm… I wonder what other types of animal cross-breeds are possible. I think there would be possibilities with different types of bears (not sure that they’d be too exiting though).
Yeah. It’s awful. I didn’t see any stripes or a mane. Maybe it’s my monitor, but it looked like a giant female lion to me.
Like anyone could even ever know that.
