I know, ancient topic… and lots said already I’m sure…
Someone at my work (in Canada) is always spewing ‘facts’ about the Bushes and 9/11. I don’t know where she gets her information.
Here are some gems.
a former cook for a Saudi prince overheard GB Senior and the prince saying (before Bush was elected) that if GW Bush was elected the US had to invade Iraq and remove Saddam. Bush confidently told the prince his son would get in.
Something like that anyway, basically implying that there was a fix in on that election.
9/11 was allowed to happen because Bush needed an excuse to go after Saddam.
People (specifically 4000 of a certain religion who apparently are all Bush supporters) were warned not to go to the WTC on 9/11. (I’ve heard this before, I’m sure she isnt an anti-semite, just clueless and believes anything peple tell her)
THe US in the past has poisoned Cuban school childrens drinking water. (huh?)
Now, I’m no fan of GW or anything… but some of these jsut seem too off the wall. Any comments from US people?
Thanks
And this is in GD cause I think there may be debates from it
My uncle Bob once had a drinking buddy who had overheard the owner of the local liquor say to his dog that Mossad was behind the Chinese invasion of Tibet.
I generally disbelieve people who make claims that are on their fact outrageous, and expect others to believe them with no supporting documentation (or the flimsiest speculation, at most).
Did you hear?
The Government/Jews/15 dwarves in Tasmania
knew about/were warned about/masterminded
etc…
To directly address point three: No, there were not 4,000 Jews who stayed home from work that day. Many companies in the World Trade Center employed Jews, and many of those died. The State Department has a page on the rumor, including a partial list of Jewish victims, here. Don’t you think if it could be proven that 4,000 Jews (or 400, even, of ANY specific group) made a concerted effort to stay home from work on 9/11, it would have been at least MENTIONED in the mainstream media?
You can have a rational debate on whether Bush stole to 2000 election, and that’s been debated here before.
You can also have a rational debate on whether Bush and/or some of his advisers wanted to invade Iraq before 9/11, and welcomed it as an excuse for what they always wanted to do.
However, I don’t believe there is any evidence for Bush and/or “the Jews” knowing about 9/11 in advance, and letting it happen.
There is ample evidence that Bush did in fact steal the 2000 election, primarily through the machinations of his brother in the pivotal state, Florida. There have been, as you guessed, many long threads devoted to this argument. Basically, conservatives and Bush devotees insist it never happened, Dems tend to believe it did. What the Bushistas cannot deny is that ChoicePoint has pled guilty in a Florida court to a number of charges relating to their “felon’s list” which contained the names of 8,000 Florida voters who were not, in fact, felons, but whose vote was disqualified anyway.
This alone would have tipped the election, and through Katherine Harris, Jeb Bush had a finger in it.
Check out the “Florida vote” and “2000 election” threads for copiously long rehashings of the ChoicePoint fraud and other issues.
The rest of the stuff sounds goofy. I’ve not heard of any of it. It almost sounds as if you are trying to deligitimize criticism of Bush’s election by hooking it up with a bunch of malarkey. There’s plenty of good solid evidence out there about the Bush election fraud in 2000. No need to include this swill with it unless you’ve got some good sources.
But the Jews knowing about 9/11 was the only point of the OP which can be answered factually. Well, and perhaps the poisoned Cuban children, but it’s a bit unclear what this has got to do with 9/11. Item 1) and 2) are just rumours and hearsay and somebody’s opinion. Without something more concrete they can only be debated rationally like my uncle Bob can.
1- Of course Bush Sr. would be confident that his son would win. I’m confident that my son will be elected president one day too.
2- I have no doubt that better diligence and communication among agencies would have prevented 9/11. I’m even cynical enough about Bush that I believe if he could go back in a time machine and prevent 9/11, there is no way that he would do so. But deliberately allowing it to legitimize Iraq, no I don’t think so. Bush isn’t quite so clever to come up with such a plan That perceived linkage between 9/11 and Iraq is due more to the stupidity of the American people than to Bush.
3- That “certain religion” is Judaism, and that 4,000 rumor has been thoroughly debunked.
4- The Cuban drinking water thing is news to me but sounds like tinfoil hat fodder.
Did Bush steal the 2000 election? Absolutely. Did he do it to go after Iraq? Very likely. Did he deliberately not prevent 9/11? Likely not.
HI there, I threw ouot most of this stuff as examples of the malarkey this woman comes up with… Didn’t say I believed any of it. I find the 4000 jews thing ofensive and the cuban thin just silly…
I was wondering what people thought about these rumours, not trying to propogate them…
Umm no… lol. I just want to know the actual facts so I can tell this woman off with some authority
So do I… I’m sure some people would believe me if I told them Bush eats babies for sunday dinner… Its sad. People believe what they want to sometimes.
For instance the cook in her story is the one who told her this… its apparently first hand info… I wouldnt put it past some people to rig an election but I also woldnt believe someone who claim to be the wex cook of a saudi prince… lol
Brian, it’s most probably futile to talk about any Bush administration conspiracy theories here but you could at least have picked some more sensible ones… I mean, poisoning children???
Even debatable issues, such as how the twin towers and WTC 7 managed to collapse, are something Americans in general don’t want to look at. It doesn’t matter how many scientist aggree on controlled demolition or how the laws of nature had to be stretched for the official explanation to work. Sad, really.
Actually there’s no factual evidence suggesting that those 8,000 people would have voted, no factual evidence suggesting for whom they would have voted.
There’s a lot of incompetence involved with the State of Florida’s vote-counting process and their voter registration, but I’ve yet to see any facts that there is any connection to George Bush; or that there is any evidence of a deliberate effort to swing things his way.
Well gee. Isn’t it obvious?! It’s all part of the giant Icelandic conspiracy masterminded by Osama bin Jóhannsson. The towers were targeted in an attempt by the Icelandic fishing/industrial complex to impose their version of the Icelandic caliphate on the world. Haven’t you noticed how they’ve been buying up companies left and right since 9/11?! Surely there’s a connection. They already own the largest shopping centre in Copenhagen. Well I for one welcome my new overlord UselessGit.
I actually just listened to a radio program on this subject called “David Ray Griffin: "The new Pearl Harbor – disturbing questions on the Bush administration and 9/11” (here if you know Danish: http://www.dr.dk/P1/laestogpaatalt/Udsendelser/2005/12/07111111.htm). Wherein David Ray Griffin and his book was given a very good critique and deemed very trust worth. I’ve also listened to other radio programs where the Mossad/CIA angle was detailed. Such are the worthy subjects the Danish state controlled media wallow in these days.
But apparently, according to the Danish state media, the deal with tower 7, was that it wasn’t hit by a plane – yet it collapsed just like the two other. Proving the controlled demolition theory. Also Tower 7 was where the CIA had their headquarters.
As I understand it, tower 7 was hit with tons of concrete and steel from the two towers that WERE hit with planes. I see nothing violative of the laws of nature in assuming that a building hit with tons of concrete and steel would in fact collapse.
