Did Dion just redo the Eagles' Xmas song?

I heard a verison of “Please Come Home for Xmas” by the Eagles, but it was NOT the Eagles singing. (I think I have the correct title. You know:…if not by Xmas, by New Year’s Day…) It was Dion, if I heard correctly. Since Dion has been out of the scene for quite awhile, is this an old song by Dion, or a recent remake?

I’ve heard a version of that song on the oldies station, so I’m fairly sure that the Eagles version is a remake.
