Okay, I’m pretty sure I know how the answer will go.
However, there was a program on the History Channel a few nights back claiming that he was a survivor (I know there were quite a few, just not any white guys from Custers immediate troop). I did a search on the board and “Frank Finkel” returned no hits which surprised me a little as a lot of theories get aired.
I didn’t watch the program, but have tried to read up on the matter. His claim, made many years later, was that he was on a fast horse, was knocked unconcious, and the horse carried him to safety. There have also been any number of other guys over the eyars who made similar claims to have been a survivor.
More on this story here.
Any thoughts? I think Gary Robson has an interest in the battle- as no doubt others do-so I would be interested in hearing views.
