Did Glenn Beck kill a frog on live TV, or is he just an idiot?

I"ve heard this rape rumor as well. Probably its just a rumor, but where there’s smoke…

I think he should come out and make a public denial.

Is this serious? or a whoosh?

It’s an internet wide whoosh around the world

About halfway down the googleslide, I ran into the word “Fark”. My credudlity vectors are set to slam shut whenever that word is encountered. Therefore, it will take an affidavit from God Almighty, countersigned by Gabriel, before I will believe a word of it.

Its a rotten thing to do to anybody, even a slimeball, and if I were a better person, I wouldn’t be laughing. Tomorrow. I’ll be better tomorrow.

It may well be a totally fabricated bit of bogus journalism by nasty people, but I still think that Glenn Beck should provide some documentary evidence that he did not rape anyone in 1990. Just provide the proof, Glenn!

But even if we can’t find the truth about the rape in the 90’s, how can we be sure that he won’t rape a girl in the future? What assurances do we have? Do you want to trust your daughter to a man who refuses to provide proof that he did not rape that girl?

I’ve heard he’s got a history of violent sexual crimes. Something about some poor girl back in 1990.

I hope that frog only had to suffer the indignity of being boiled alive. Not raped then boiled alive.

“Axolotl! Axolotl? Come in the house, dear, don’t talk to the creepy man!”

I would never believe that Glenn Beck would do such a morally reprehensible act.

Just like I would never believe he called a woman who had just suffered a miscarriage to taunt her on air

/he’s a piece of shit

It’s obviously fake. He didn’t really throw a frog into boiling water. He’s not even that good of an actor. It was just supposed to be funny. It’s not.

Yea, he doesn’t even look that closely to see if the frog is dead or not. It’s a bit.

Trying to get into his head here.

He was kind of following up on what he said in an interview a few days ago (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHqCNOhiYNg) where he claimed McCain would have been worse than Obama. It seemed very weakly improvised (McCain is “this weird progressive like Theodore Roosevelt”?) just to show that he is independent minded and not a republican shill, it even came with a “How’s that!” as if he blew everyone’s mind

Last night, having had time to create a reasoning, he was trying to elaborate with wacky metaphors and props like he always does. He was saying that if McCain were president these dangerous changes would have happened so slowly that we wouldn’t have noticed and just gone along with it (like a frog being slowly boiled alive), but with Obama the change is happening so fast that we are jolted to it’s horrible reality enough to escape it (All the tea party protesting and such is thus analogous to the frog who immediately jumps out of the boiling water ). Pretty silly, but it resembles earth logic.

So when the frog does not jump out of the boiling water, it really does seem to to completely refute his entire setup. I realize now that his point could have actually been that even the fast change is…bound to kill us. But that just seems an inconsistent message for him if the frog was to symbolize his beloved anti-Obama outcry. There are convoluted ways you can twist the metaphor to make some kind of message out of it, but I really don’t think it is Beck’s style to make us ponder a hidden meaning behind what he says. Furthermore, after the event he just drops the frog thing altogether, was it just supposed to be a joke on us for thinking that it was a real metaphor and not a fake one?

Even a bad joke should have some semblance of a punchline. But then again, surely he didn’t accidentally boil a frog…I’m just so confused!

I have no witty retort, but it is against my personal by-laws to not acknowledge a Shakes the Clown reference when I see one.

It was fake. Here is what came right after that: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0T0EVrEhBwE

“Forget about the frog, because it was fake”

ETA: Further on he actually takes it out and shows that it’s fake.

If I accidentally flubbed that demonstration then my cover would sound very similar to that.

But yea I’m 95% sure it was fake, but 100% sure it was still hilarious.

Correct. He stuck his hand into the container but didn’t actually get his hands on a frog, and when he throws it, you can see nothing comes out of his hand.

I feel stupid for having checked, but he didn’t do anything here. It’s almost too bad because if he’d pissed off PETA, maybe they would have wiped each other out.

Wasn’t even a fake. The frog jumps out of his hands in the little tank. If you watch the moment he “throws” the frog in, there’s nothing there. No frog or splash. No animals were harmed in the making of that segment (except for proximity to Glen Beck).

Now if only he’d spend some time addressing the rumors of rape and murder that continue to follow him. I don’t believe them, but why won’t he debunk them?

He’s too high profile. He’d wind up with naked (albeit body painted) women protesting outside his office. He doesn’t deserve that.

I do.
Also curse you for posting one minute before me. I’ve heard rumors of moderators changing the posting order to make themselves look smarter and faster. I don’t believe them, but no moderator has offered any evidence to the contrary.

I watched it, I think it was an attempt at an homage to the WKRP Thanksgiving episode. I also now think Glenn Beck couldn’t catch a frog in a bucket.

Why mime throwing something in the water if he had a rubber frog on hand?
