Did I do the right thing, or have I fucked up?

We always found grandma to be one of the least forgiving souls when it came to calling someone to pick up little johnny when he got caught vandalizing something or trying to break into a video game coin box.

On several occasions, we saw kids gloating because dear old grandma was coming to retreive their delinquent ass. They should have been hard asses and made us call the cops…the cops would not have inflicted near as much suffering if they tazered him a few times. Ever seen a 5’9 kid trying to walk with his ear being held at 5’2" grandmas waist level clenched firmly in her hand.

Some years ago- same thought of thing was happening to the daughter of one of the guys at work. They used to hassle her about “show us your tits” and all that. He got onto the cops- they said they are subject to the same laws as anyone else.

If there are kids going to a special school generally the parents are much better.

Because they can’t see whats going on down a tram especially a crowed one. Plus they generally don’t care whats going on there tram.

Uh, if they could kick your ass?

(And allow me to add a “me too” post). And definitely report this to the principal of said school. Because otherwise, I have the feeling they’ll just go after the poor kid when you’re out of sight.

It’s destructive to the bullies themselves, too, which I wish more people would take into account. Some adults are of the opinion that the child being bullied should settle the matter by moving out of range. I don’t see how that solves anything. The bullies will either follow the kid, find another victim, or ramp up their aggression the next time.

A well-adjusted child does not pick on other kids. A bully becomes a thug. Or a jerk co-worker who alienates everyone. Or a mook stuck in a low-level job because he can’t take orders. It’s no good to wait for them to grow out of it, because many of them never really grow out of it. Good for you for giving them a little extra education.
