Sunday afternoon I started feeling tired-and had no apetite. Monday morning-I threw up nad had a fever chills, and joint aches and pains. I stayed in bed all day Monday-by Tuesday, I felt well enough to return to work.
I attibute the short duration of this to my daily consumption of 500 mgrams of Vitamin C. What is your opinion?
No, it sure doesn’t sound like you had influenza.
Most likely it was a short-lived viremia from one of the many varieties of virus that cause gastro-intestinal distress.
I am also of the opinion that your vitamin C made no difference in the course of your illness. Unless you were coming down with scurvy, that is.
Can I play?
I felt funny when I went to bed on Thursday, at midnight…kinda like a scratchy throat.
I awoke at 6 am, in too much joint pain to sleep and proceded to get very sick. I ran a 102-103 F temperature until Monday. Sore throat, headache, kidney pain, general tiredness. I almost feel like I can leave the house today, Wednesday.
Did I have the flu?
As an aside, I take 1000 mg of vitamin C every day - it’s a delicious snack. I love citrus flavored acidic things.
That sounds more like the flu. I had a case a couple of weeks ago.
The flu is similar to a cold, except that your nose isn’t as stuffy and you get exhausted and have a higher fever. You really want to do nothing by lie down. You also get very dehydrated.
Yeah, vitamin C is a total crock. I avoid the stuff.
I don’t think it’s the flu but I’m getting brownish spots on my skin, spongy gums, and some occasional bleeding from mucous membranes. Friends say I look pale and act like kind of down.
Oh, some old wounds are opening up and my teeth are getting loose, but I’m sure that’s nothing.
Bob, you need to go down to ol’ Mexico, and get yourself some Maragaritas! The tequila will do you good.
