Did I pass my national boards?

I’ll find out Friday morning.

did you take your test through Pearson-Vue? If you did, I might know a hack you could try to find out sooner.

Anyway, good luck!

What are the national boards?

National Boards for teaching through NBPTS (an now administered by Pearson I believe)
By this time tomorrow I may be Saint Cad, NBCT

So, did you pass? Are you out celebrating?

Missed it by 10 points. One of my entries that was loved by everyone was killed by the scorer. Apparently developing vocabulary does not demonstrate subject knowledge.

I’m curious about that myself, assuming the OP is in the United States. I thought it’s the individual states that license just about every profession or occupation requiring a license.

National Boards is certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) and a teacher that passes is a National Board Certified Teacher and is entitled to the postnomial NBCT. States are free to interpret that certification as they see fit from accepting it in lieu of certification (if moving states) to stipends (although most of those are gone) to other considerations. In my state, all it does is adds 2 years to my credential and changes the name from professional teaching license to master teaching license.

Less than 24 hours to go before results are out.
Last year I missed it by 10 points so I redid the two larger entries and just need an increase of 5/8 of a point (on a 4 point scale) across both of them to pass. One of them from last year had the comment “Teacher does not demonstrate math knowledge” which killed my score so this year I discussed Hamiltonian graphs. Is that worth 5/8 of a point in of itself not even counting the other entry?

Fingers crossed.

Fingers crossed for you! Good luck!

Scores have been delayed 9 hours with no relief in sight. Fingers cramped from crossing.

Dammit! :frowning: Hope you find out soon

Aw, man! Quick, go into distraction mode! Any movies you’ve been wanting to watch? How about getting a full-body massage? Are you a runner?

DUDE! I am right there with you–I’m about to have a goddamn breakdown. I woke up at 12:07 am and tried to check. Then went back to bed and dreamt about getting my results, which included phrases like (and they were at least this complicated):

and

Forty pages of this nonsense, and I could read it all very clearly in my dreams (where I can never read things, so I was sure it wasn’t a dream), but I couldn’t find out anywhere WHETHER I’D BEEN CERTIFIED.

I checked again at 5 am, and this time I pulled up some sample score sheets to convince my stupid brain that they wouldn’t be 40 pages of trivia but would rather be 1-2 pages of totally unhelpful advice like “Consider being more specific about parent involvement.”

Then all day long I was spastically refreshing the website until it totally crashed around noon, because apparently their hosting service didn’t realize that all the candidates would be checking the website on the day that results were released.

GAH! I’m ready to riot.

My GF is waiting on hers as well. We’ll just have to check again tomorrow. She’s not happy with the delay.

UPDATE:

No goddam update. I’m so hating on these people.

Update:

WOOT!

Congrats! My GF just checked hers as well:

Woot!

Congrats to her as well!

Woot!!

I remember taking NCLEX through Pearson and the immense stress of waiting for results.

Go breathe a sigh of relief! I think I cried when I got my “here ya go, you’re just smart enough not to kill anyone” moment - it was an explosion of three years of work. And then I celebrated!!

Good for you!
