I got a semi-new suit from my brother about 6 months ago. Stupidly, I just hung the jacket on the first hanger that I found, then promptly forgot about it. I was rummaging through the closet last month and I found it. What horror! When I put it on, it fit perfectly-except that there are two lumps across my shoulders from where the weight was pressing on the hanger. Midway from my shoulder to the neck, to be precise.
Is there any way that this can be remedied? It is ‘standard’ suit material, wool I think, nothing exotic, stretchy, or shiny.
thanks,
hh
I don’t think so. Take it to the dry cleaner, point out the bumps. They can probably remove them.
Next time use a thick, wooden hanger. I don’t even own a suit any more and my jackets are worn maybe once in 10 years so they hang in the closet interminably. No shoulder bumps on them that I notice.
It’s not ruined, you just need to have it steamed and then hang it on the proper hangars. Bring it to the cleaner’s, they’ll do it for you.
