Or it’s bad in some way?
It’s fine.
Your pants are gonna fall off the hanger, easily.
Is this a domestic discussion, perhaps?
I see plenty of pants in stores sold with a belt already looped in. They’re on hangers.
…although i guess it might depend somewhat on the weight of the belt.
If it’s a thick & wide leather belt with a 2lb buckle and other metallic
adornments, it may be an issue.
LOL, no.
As long as your not still wearing one or the other it shouldn’t be a problem.
Depends
But if the belt is on the pants hanging in the closet and you want to wear the belt with another pair you might go nuts looking for the belt forgetting what you did with it.
So drape the pants with the belt over the side chair and you won’t be put out by a missing belt. But if you tend to pile up an assortment of clothes on the chair that might hide the belted pants too.
Get pants with an adjustable waist?
Seriously…
If it’s self belted. You know those pants with belts made of web with just a little leather stuff at the buckle. Yeah they’re fine.
If it is your jeans that belt might be too heavy. Strain on the loops and misshapen waist.
If you launder before hanging it seems not an issue. Belts in the dryer is not a great idea.
Once you hang up your pants, all options are on the table, so to speak.
