Did James Bond bet 22 Black?

I have a pretty strong recollection that in one of the old Bond movies he walks up to a roulette table and bets 22 Black. Can anyone verify this and point to which movie the scene is in. Thanks.

I put this here rather than in GQ thinking there might be more movie fans here. If a mod thinks it more appropriate in GQ, that’s fine.

Are you sure you’re not thinking of Casablanca?

Have you tried twenty-two tonight? I said, twenty-two.

No, but that’s great. I’m so sure that Bond comes in, with his inimitable Bondian confidence and bets a wad on 22 Black. Aren’t there any Bond afficiandos on The Dope?

Oooh, is this why in Lost in America she keeps betting 22?

What’s the significance of betting on 22 black? Does the wheel only go up to 21 or something?

From here (hopefully you weren’t the one who submitted the question there):

It was in Diamonds Are Forever - the scene at Circus Circus in Vegas where he goes to meet Tiffany Case. I don’t remember the number or color though.

In Casablanca? The wheel was rigged to fall on 22. Bogey was giving the guy (a Bulgarian refugee betting his last few chips) a break. IIRC, he let the guy win a couple more times, always on 22, before telling him to get lost.

I think the reason in Casablanca has been explained, but a roulette wheel goes up to 36 with either one or two zeros (generally depends where in the world you are.)
