That’s all true, of course, but there are old-time rockers who’ve abused all substances possible and have lived a fairly (for them) long life. Jerry Garcia, for example, died at age 53, and I’d say his addictions were at least the equal of Morrison’s, if not greater. (He was also diabetic.) So it’s not completely out of the question that Morrison could have lived thirty more years.
