It’s also the name of a very popular dish here in the UK. I’ve seen many restaurants with “Maryland Fried Chicken” on the menu. (Incidentally there are also cookies called “Maryland Cookies”). I haven’t tried either one of these but they’re everywhere. People who find out I’m from MD inevitably ask me about the origin of these foods, and I’m clueless.
