The very funny British TV show always seemed to feature Onslow wearing a sleeveless t-shirt. When he had to “dress up”-he added a sleeveless sweater.
Was he ever seen wearing a suit and tie?
Not that I can recall, and I’ve seen every episode. He’d sometimes wear a suit jacket over his sleeveless sweater though. Even a cuddle bunny like Onslow can get cold.
Yes. One of the Christmas specials was called Sea Fever and it was about Hyacinth and Richard’s dream trip on the Queen Elizabeth 2. See this YouTube clip of the end of the episode. Onslow is smartly dressed in a white dinner jacket and black tie.
I would love to have seen that. Did the Christmas special run on PBS?
I get a kick out of his (Green Bay) Packer’s jersy.
Brian
Yes, it did, although I can’t remember when. And I think this YouTube clip contains the entire episode.
Heh…funny that this came up. We just had a bartender over the weekend who looked exactly like Daisy.
I’ve seen the holiday cruise episode several times on PBS.
Although this wasn’t shown onscreen, I also remember Hyacinth saying that Onslow had worn a suit to his own wedding and that while he’d still looked horrible at least he’d looked horrible in a suit.
Besides the QA2 episode, he might have worn a coat/tie on his granddaughter’s christening episode (the one where the daughter is traveling with two scruffy guys and the van breaks down, and even she is uncertain which of the two is the father). It has been several years since I’ve seen that episode, so my memory is hazy.
Sorry to revive a zombie, but I have just been watching this serial and yes, he jolly well does wear a suit and tie to his granddaughter’s christening!
(Can’t stop fiddling with the tie though).
Thanks, half-elf, for the confirmation.
And as zombies go, this one still had most of its meat on the bones.
