And/or did fewer people get them?
I recently learned that the yearly influenza viruses originate from south-east Asia. I am wondering if the long travel times and isolation of some populations means that the flu never reached some people in a year.
But then it seems that perhaps Europe might have had its own native well springs. If so, what happened to those?
