We have two copies of the Baghavad Gita, one I got in an airport, and one my wife got, the same way (long before we met). It was given, and then a donation was requested. While annoying, I never saw the Hari Krishnas being anything but polite. A good friend of mine had great things to say about the dinners they served at their ashram in Ann Arbor, back in the 70’s.
Unfortunately, I didn’t get past the intro in the book (my copy, “The Baghavad Gita - As It Is”). The intro says that the only way to read the book and get any value from it is to believe it wholeheartedly. That kinda killed my interest. But someday maybe I’ll try again, assuming whoever wrote the intro was wrong. He probably wasn’t, though!
