I’ve heard before that Saddam (the Iraqi leader–that’s right i can’t spell his last name) shot his son when he returned from the US or somthing along those lines. is this true, or is it just government propaganda designed to make us hate him?

Saddam’s son-in-law went to (i think) Jordan, where he tried to sell Iraqi military secrets to the UN, but was asking for a lot of money. Ironically, Saddam thought that he had given the info to the UN for free, and made a whole bunch of information freely available to the UN that they did not have before. Anyway, Saddam told his son-in-law that he would kill his extended family if he did not return, so he did, where his wife (Saddam’s daughter) was taken away from him and he was executed by the republican guard. I don’t remember what happened to his wife, though. Either TLC or Discovery channel made a very good program about Saddam that I saw a couple nights ago. They will probably air it a couple more times this week.
do you remember the video footage of the parties where men drive swords into their abdomens to show their fidelity to Saddam’s son who is watching on?
How can you complain about the plea of allegiance after that?
