Did Sybok get a haircut in Star Trek V?

When Sybok goes down to the planet to meet God, his hair is shorter. Did Sybok get a haircut? Why? To look nice for God?

A wizard did it.

Wouldn’t you want to look nice for your god??

Damn, people dressed up just to go to church, a haircut when meetin’ the big guy himself seems pretty appropriate.

I am not crazy, he really does get a haircut?

You’re asking people to watch STV again? Closely??

You sick puppy.

I just think it looked shorter because it wasn’t being blown around in the wind on that lousy desert planet. It was slicked back. Don’t wanna know with what.

Look, I like Laurence Luckinbill a lot–caught his one-man show on Theodore Roosevelt last year, and found Sybok tolerable because of his subtlety. But I resent the movie not only for being a zillion-dollar retread of Roddenberry’s obsession with “We look for God and He’s a fraaaauuuuud!” but for messing up Sarek’s backstory. Some lady would marry that, get pregnant, and then take off into a monastery (without telling Sarek about his baby, apparently) and leave him? Not bloody likely.

C’mon, you know even in pon farr he has to be the best tumble in the galaxy…the voice alone…I’ll be in my bunk.

It looks shorter in the back. Slicking it back should make it look longer in the back.

Nobody ever said the battle against ignorance would be easy.
