Did the Asian bakery violate the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by serving me after its Asian customers?

Why didn’t you say anything the first time you were overlooked? This is what I don’t understand. You stood around making mental assumption s about the cashier’s motives, but didn’t speak up at all. Maybe it’s just me, but I’m having a hard time understanding why you didn’t say anything.

The first time I was overlooked was in favor of a customer at the display case, where my friend had been server (she’s Black, but at that time was the only customer present). As I stated, I returned to that spot after being passed over at the cash register for an Asian customer there. However, then I was ignored for an Asian man who had come to the cash register after me. Again, nobody but the attendant “spoke up” to receive service. No non-Asian customer was served so long as an Asian customer presented, regardless of who was at either cash register of display case first.

All Rosa had to do is move to the back of the bus. How does this impair her quaality of life?

That rebuttal aside, I think that cultural differences could well account for the issue.
