Did the kid who won Jeopardy today type his final jeopardy response?

Looked like it, unless he wrote it perfectly straight. I thought it was weird.

I think he just has really good handwriting.

What would he have typed it with?

Heh…Just finished watching that and was wondering the same thing. I don’t see how he could have written it by hand unless he had a template, or at least a straight edge. Maybe he had some kind of special needs issue and his station was equipped with a keyboard?

FWIW, I thought the kid had a kind of smart-a** attitude, but then again he was obviously very intelligent. The girl had such a bad case of stage fright that it was affecting her play. The third player looked and sounded about 3-4 years older than the others…I expected him to do better.
SS

Yeah, I noticed his writing too. I paused the TV and it looked way too perfect and lined up. I can’t imagine someone could write like that in the time it takes the Jeopardy Thinking music to play. I commented to my boyfriend, “If that’s really his writing, he’s a perfectionist as well as s mart and would probably be a nightmare to live when he gets older.”

Did it show his wager like that too? I don’t even remember.

I knew a gal once that could print by hand with exacting precision. Not having seen the show, I can’t give an opinion; but it’s possible it was hand-written.

People often tease me about “typing” stuff on forms, which of course I’ve filled out while sitting right in front of them. I find it puzzling. Apparently other people have pretty bad handwriting—and use those nasty ballpoints.

However, I just reviewed the TiVo. His answer clearly was typed (seemingly added in postproduction). Perhaps his marks on the tablet were satisfactory to the judges but not dark enough to read on screen. His wager was a readable scrawl.

My wife and I just concluded that his handwriting must be terrible.

Clearly he has a future in medicine.

I didn’t watch last night, but many will remember Eddie Timanus, the blind sportswriter who became a five-time Jeopardy! champ; he was given a keyboard to type his responses in the final category. I’m sure any contestant unable to hold the stylus would be given a keyboard.

OK, it was typed. Here it is, starting at 18:43.

And yeah, he looks pretty smug.

OMG! That kid had the best smug ever! I could not stop laughing, I love him!

It’s rare that I want to smack a kid this badly.

I agree!

I thought he looked uncannily like a young Ron Swanson. If they ever cast for a flashback episode, that’s the kid they should get.

That was great.

I’m pretty sure Emma didn’t understand the question at all, judging by her reaction.

He looks like a young Dr. Sheldon Cooper to me.

I often want to smack a kid, so I’m here to tell you: that kid needs smackin’.

I guarantee you that kid will indeed be smacked in this life. Junior high’s going to scar him.
