Did the MCU Ever Follow Up on This Plot Thread?

I rewatched Ant Man recently to get ready for the new one and something I noticed but had forgotten is when the Evil Guy goes to sell his faux Pym Particles to Hydra, in the confusion of the Heroes stopping him the guy from Hydra snatches a sample and escapes. As best as I can remember this was never mentioned again right or am I forgetting something?

AFAIK, it’s never been brought up again.

It can be handy to have loose plot threads like that hanging about - if they need a new villain with powers that are at all related to Pym particles, there it is.

Like all the blood draws they did on Steve Rogers after he became Captain America; people were experimenting on those samples for years, and they ended up being a plot point in Agent Carter.

There’s an upcoming story that’s finally going to follow up on a plot thread left hanging in The Incredible Hulk movie, when Tim Blake Nelson appears in the new Captain America movie out in 2024. That’s fifteen years! So anything could yet develop with the Pym Particles.

I’m hoping for a MCU crossover with Particle-Man and Universe-Man.

But not Triangle Man. Sony has those rights.

They do this as sequel bait, then change their minds. They did it with Dr Strange and Mordo also, that whole thing about him going around killing other magic users got dropped real fast as it would have made a boring sequel. Apparently he got killed off screen in a Multiverse of Madness deleted scene.

IIRC, it wasn’t a deleted scene, it was an early version of the screenplay that never got filmed. I wouldn’t say they’ve dropped it (or the missing Pym Particles from Ant Man) they just haven’t gotten back to it yet. There have only been two Dr. Strange films so far, so it’s not like they’ve been passing up tons and tons of opportunities to revisit the character.

Well his action figure came with a buncha stuff that never showed up in the movie, supposedly from that scene, so something had to be in the works.

There’s always an angle

And in Falcon & The Winter Soldier. Also, I’m still tickled that one of the goons in that Ant-man scene had a Ten Rings tattoo. It’s the little details.

Isn’t Rogers blood how they made Bucky?

No, that was some Hydra process they’ve never quite explained.

The general understanding is that Arnim Zola was following up on Erskine’s work, and if he was using anybody’s blood, it would have been from some of the many failures, or, more likely, the Red Skull.

And probably without the Skull’s knowledge. I can’t see him agreeing to it (for ego reasons).

I was actually hoping there would be a follow-up to fulfill the promise of fixing Ghost from AntMan and the Wasp. Any chance we’ll see the Pym family make good on that?

–G?

Hannah John-Kamen will be returning in the movie Thunderbolts. So, maybe.

They are never going to fix her condition, no one with super powers ever gets “fixed”. They might make it don’t hurt at best.

In Ant-Man and the Wasp she said she was in agonizing pain all the time and had a few weeks left to live. So presumably it’ll be “You still have powers, but it doesn’t hurt and you’re not going to die”.
