I’ve been unable to access the SD for the past two days. I don’t see any anouncements anywhere. WTF??? Anyone got the skinny?
(BTW, the speed is remarkable for this time of the evening. I’m hoping it was maintenance, like installing a decent server maybe?)
Pipes froze and broke on the top floor of the Chicago Reader building, drenching their T-1 connection (and I gather other stuff) and taking them offline. There were notices on boards “related to” SDMB as to what had happened.
Would somebody there kindly convey our appreciation to jdavis and the other Tech Deities for the fast work getting things back up?!?

Rather tangentially reminds me of “Mr Bean’s Diary” - in the middle there are suddenly a few blank pages…then, all of a sudden a few days on an entry that says: “My diary! I found it!”

Hopefully, nogginhead, the Reader wouldn’t go out of business overnight. We’ll worry about that when (and if) we have to.
Out of curiosity, what are the boards “related to” the SDMB? The only place I thought to look was Teemings and I didn’t see anything there…
