Did anyone notice how October seemed to just fly by? Actually, this whole damn year! I can’t even remember what I did this past summer. It can’t be my age (24 on Nov 28th). Are we on some sort of path to a quick and painful (it’s murphy’s law) death?! Did I forget to take my meds today???
Damn…where is my life headed?!
I’m with ya.
I’m still waiting for some sort of Y2K catastrophie…
to finish it off with a bad birthday on top of that..
I keep saying (when I’m writing dates) “It’s 2000, right?” and getting really weird looks.
Uhh…
It is 2001, right?
Life starts flying by when you reach a point in your life where you no longer have time landmarks. For example, when you stop going to school, and your time is no longer broken up into semesters.
The time between when I graduated from college and when I joined the Army just whizzed by. Then it slowed down considerably for my years of Army service.
Now it’s whizzing by again. I imagine it’s worse for people with kids, who go from being babies to being adolescents in the blink of an eye.
This yead has gone by very fast. It seems like last week I was leaving 9th grade. It seems like a few days ago I was on vacation in California, and like I started school yesterday.
October has flown by already? Wow, there are still nine days left of it for me…
Yeah, it just shot by. Granted I had some things to look foward to. Like going to college, but still, whoosh.
What gets me down is that song “It’s not my day, my week or even my year”. With Friends winding down and all getting married off, the show is turning into Thirty-something. But they left me far behind!
I’ve been saying it for years. It’s a conspiracy. People are finally noticing it.
It’s that stupid daylight savings time. Think about it, they’ve taken one hour from each of us. Given how many people there are, that’s a lot of hours. No wonder the year is so much shorter.
LourAnge is right - it should really be 2000. Soon people will be saying it’s 2002. But they’ve just fallen into the conspiracy as well.
Just what is being done with all those hours, I’m not sure. I think I may have found a clue, though, yesterday when I was put on hold while on the phone with my bank. Someone should follow up on this lead.
I have a picture in my cubicle at work - a family portrait when our Perfect Child[sup]TM[/sup] was 2, and above it, she and her bf at his Junior Prom. Those interim years just poofed past. Less than 3 years from now, she’ll be starting college.
And the holidays are looming large - not enough time!! Not enough hours!
Mom was right. Time speeds up the older you get.
