Did Trevor Smith beat Bladder Cancer with Cannabis Oil, Vitamins and a restrictive Diet? Did anyone?

Even if the plant itself cannot be patented, the process to extract the active ingredients and the method of administering those compounds can be patented.

Did Taxol not get approved because it was extracted from yew trees? Did yew bark tea ever help a statistically significant number of people?

Then why bother posting at all? Nothing impresses me less then a a claim of “soopersekrit knowledge”…followed by a smug rufusal to share it.

New antibiotics are not being developed because there’s just so many that can be produced before bacteria ends up being immune to every single one. That’s why you have to complete your antibiotic courses to the end, to avoid creating resistant strands.

If the pharmaceutical industry were as evil and corrupt as you suggest, they WOULD create new antibiotics and cash in on the new patents now, instead of holding them, which is not particularly good business.

Because synthesizing the active ingredients and selling them as in “take one of these daily and you’ll never get cancer” would be the biggest cash cow ever.

However that won’t happen because that’s not how cancer works: cancer is not a virus or a bacteria that can be targeted by any pill or lifestyle change, cancer is one of our own cells mutating and growing uncontrollably. You can boost your immunological system as much as you want, that our own cells won’t be recognized as a threat.

Sir/Madam, forum member bardos did not write that, it was an attempt at sarcasm by another poster.

I think the most succinct answer to OP’s question is “highly unlikely, but we can’t prove a negative.”

And really, cancer prevention and cancer treatment are two separate issues. Once a person develops a cancer it is absolutely irrelevant what they could have done to avoid it; you might as well tell a person with a broken leg that they shouldn’t have been skiing that way. You now treat the problem and don’t lecture the victim on what they should have done.

A healthy lifestyle can help prevent many health problems but so much damage is done to your systems long before any consequences of that damage is seen.

I vote for BS. I see every possible combination of miracle cures on the Internet.

Nothing beats cancer like a mallet. The side effects aren’t pretty though.

That’s nice. I feel so enlightened by your comment, I think I shall go make some deviled eggs. rufusul???
Are you just pissy today, or what?

And vincristine from the periwinkle plant?

The part about the body not being able to recognize the cancer cells isn’t so much true any more.

Late last year I was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma in my lung. It was found very early and it was a small tumor, 8mm. My first thought was, “Lets get in there and hack that sucker out and be done with it.” Was told surgery wasn’t an option.

In early December they started me on pembrolizumab, one of a set of new drugs developed to fight melanoma. It’s a course of eight infusions three weeks apart. The drug works by blocking a protein on the cancer cell that acts to hide the cancer from the bodies immuno system. When it works correctly the body can ‘see’ the cancer just fine. Just before the fourth treatment I had a pet scan and the tumor was over 99% gone. And as icing on the cake there have been almost no bad side effects with the exception of sometimes feeling a little tired. You may remember Jimmy Carter being ‘cured’ of melanoma of the lung, liver and brain last August. He was on a different drug but the using the same approach.

On the whole the this new (only released for general use last October I think) has been extremely successful.

While this approach presently only works, far as I know, on melanoma I strongly suspect a lot of research is being done on adapting it for other types of cancer. So there’s hope that the whole ‘body can’t find the cancer to fight it’ thing might be coming to an end.

That’s really good to know, thanks.

This. So much this. If the scientific evidence existed that a cure for cancer could be found in something like beetroot juice and linseed oil medical professions would be advising their loved ones to take it.

If there is not enough scientific evidence yet than any claim that big pharma isn’t researching it thoroughly because they won’t see a sound fiscal return is nothing but tinfoil hattery.

I’m just not seeing the 5% threshold of inconsistencies to generate any legitimate crackpotism. It’s pretty rare for a cancer patient to have their cancer just up and disappear on them. We’d have to see 1 of 20 ratio for all reasons and we don’t see anything close to this. The whole financial angle would be credible if that was the only consideration. But it’s not, there’s going to be some shmuck who wants his name in lights, maybe even meet the Queen of Sweden.

If there’s a piece to the puzzle in the OP, it will be found and added to our understanding. Whatever cure is found, it still won’t cure death.

Vitamin C AND Laetrile.

Amazing - I hadn’t heard of a New! Suppressed by the Medical Establishment! 100% Cancer CURE! using either of those magical compounds for forty years, and here they are, back for another romp through the desperate and deluded.

Sad. Incredibly Sad.

And it is the real medical workers who are the ones motivated by greed.
The bozos hawking Magical Cures at $10,000 for a concoction of weeds and oils.
But: Now we have Marijuana as a new exciting drug! We’ll add that to the mix and it’ll sound au courant!

Taking Control: Thank you for relating this story in your post.

Yeah, but what about Big Pharma!?

Amazing, cancer cure rates with natural remedies is exactly the same as cancer misdiagnosed …

So how much are you being paid by the manufacturers of all of these products?

Anyone doing any amount of quality research on Kangen machines will find they are only good at separating fools from their money. They can’t chemically work they way they are described and what they produce can’t have the effects they claim. The body simply isn’t sensitive to the pH of what we eat and drink in the manner described.

If on the other hand your research consists completely on talking charlatans and their dupes at their word …

I love that anything they did is “natural,” even when it includes cannabis oil extracts, used gawd knows how, “D17” (laetrile), megavitamins that wouldn’t be possible without laboratory extraction or synthesis (that mega C is not from eating 3,000 oranges a day), and magic water machines, while anything they didn’t do they didn’t do because they reject the “unnatural.”
