Did Trump acquire interest in Russia's largest oil company?

According to this article Trump may have acquired a significant stake in Rosneft, the largest oil company in Russia, which is partially privatized.

The privately prepared, recently released Dossier concerning Donald Trump and his relationship with the Russian Government and Russian business interests contains allegations about promises of equity in Rosneft in return for lifting sanctions that the United States had imposed upon Russia in reaction to Russian adventurism in Ukraine.

It goes on to describe the meetings between Carter Page, of Trump’s U.S. Republican presidential candidate’s foreign policy team, and officials in Russia.

If this actually happened as described, would it be enough to turn Trump’s followers?

The evidence seems awfully flimsy in that blog post.

Even if it were proven, i think there is a core who would say " he’s a good businessman!" and shrug it off.

This is a good graph showing the alleged relationships. There was also that ex-KGB guy linked to the dossier who wound up dead. Good luck topping this, House of Cards. But this story is from a couple weeks ago. In Trump time, it may as well be a couple decades ago.
