US companies don’t need to leave someplace and go elsewhere. They are already everywhere they can legally be, and some that are already questionable. They just shut down operations in the country that is causing them an issue.
Or in Venezuela’s case the company’s local operations there were nationalized and taken over by the government without compensation of any kind. A former employer of mine, a large multinational conglomerate, in the 2000’s had three different plants (three different industries) taken over by Chavez’s military and the local management teams kicked out of the country. The parent company took the country of Venezuela to world court in the Haag, and won a judgment of over $1 billion, that was never paid.
