I am looking for experiences from couples who went to sex/marriage counseling and whether it had any possitive outcome.
What was the reason you went to counseling? How does a typical session go? Did it improve in any way the situation?

never did sex counseling but had so plain old marriage counseling that was very helpful.
Both have helped, primarily with underlying communication issues. I strongly recommend getting the help you need in whatever area(s) you need help. My wife and I being willing to talk things over, including with a therapist, and to make changes as needed, are big reasons why we’re still happily married after 30 years.
