Didn't anyone else watch part 3 of The Librarian?

I’m sure it’s very uncool to like this series, but I love it. I love it’s tongue-in-cheek, albeit subtle, references to other action movies.
It’s a cartoon clothed in real people. The action is so outlandish, I don’t get caught up in the “that wouldn’t work” go-round. Of course it wouldn’t, it’s a cartoon!

I haven’t watched it yet, but I DVR’d all three of them yesterday. I’ve already seen the first two, but my mom is “babysitting” me while I recover from surgery and she hadn’t seen any of them. We watched the first one together last night and we’ll watch part 2 (and maybe 3) tonight.

I agree that it’s a totally cartoonish, cheesy, fun tribute to adventure films. I love the regular cast (Wylie, Newhart, Curtin) and you’re right that it’s fun to catch the references to other movies.

When the girls face off near the end of part 1 and the music starts up, my thought process was:

That sounds very similar to the music from Kill Bill.
Oh, man, they are totally ripping off *Kill Bill *here–do they think we won’t notice?
Oh, wait–they’re making it very obvious that they’re ripping off Kill Bill. Hee hee, this is fun!

When I watched the first one, and they were in the elevator going down to the big basement, lights were flashing by in the elevator, just like they do in the USS Enterprise, and I said to my friend “Hmph. That’s a bit too Star Trek.”

And then the elevator door opened “Fssshooshh” using the Star Trek door sound effect.

“Aha.” I said. “Now I get it.”

There was a part 3 of The Librarian on?

DAMNIT!

I was planning on recording it, but apparently I’m too stupid to work my VCR - I recorded the wrong channel.

Likely I’ll get a chance to see it again.

My sister is getting her Masters in Library Studies to be a professional librarian. When one of these movies came on last night, I made fun of her and told her this was the real reason she wanted to become a librarian.

It’s on again tonight at 9pm est & pst.

I watched it today, but missed the last two minutes or so. The Librarian had just confronted Bob Newhart’s character, then the tape ran out. Can someone spoiler it for me?

Yea, I saw it. But I’ve gotten to the point where vampire stories automatically ‘jump the shark’ (which has also jumped the shark). Can’t help it. 'cuse me, I have to yell at some kids on my lawn now.

I love these movies. Escapist, cartoony, fun.

A while back I got the latest remake of King Solomon’s Mines, and also got the Librarian variant of the tale. It’s great campy fun. I’ll swap one of my other DVDs for Librarian 3.

Rewatched the first two earlier this week and just watched the new one. The first half was better than the last half. I didn’t care for the vampire stuff at all. Seemed like a bit of a step down from the first two, but I’ll keep watching if they make another.

I liked his romantic interests in the first two better–maybe because I am familiar with and like both actresses (Sonya Walger who plays Penny on Lost, and Gabrielle Anwar from Burn Notice). The lady vamp in this one was pretty, but didn’t have much charisma or chemistry with Wylie.

I might have missed something, but at the end, was Flynn insinuating that Judson (Newhart) is Jesus?

I just DVRd 1 & 2 which will be on TNT this Saturday at 1pm and 3pm respectetively and the 3rd will be on Sunday at 6.

You know, I thought I saw Penny in the trailer and then was surprised that she was nowhere to be found. I guess they showed a scene from one of the previous films and I forgot she had been in it.

I just thought it was saying he was the first Librarian. But I could have missed something.

Meh. I kinda liked it, but I’ve seen so many “evil Dracula” stories, and Dracula is so pointlessly evil just because… meh. I though this one would actually be more interesting, but it was just kinda OK. Not bad, not good.
