Didn't Cindy Sheehan quit?

And don’t forget, she’s only interested in the fact that her son died so could have something to use to bash Bush.

But if she defeats Pelosi, she might have a shot.

Exactly! I think…

Hers is the one with all of the snakes.

Yes, it does, see Carolyn McCarthy.
Starting careers on the bodies of your dead children isn’t unheard of at all, see John Walsh.

I’m sure we can find more. :frowning:

CMC fnord!

John Edwards?

My contention would be that Sheehan’s overqualified to run against Pelosi. But then, so are about 290 million other American citizens.

Here’s Nancy with her understanding of relative powers of the Supreme Court & Congress:

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, California Democrat, said she “would oppose any legislation that says that we would withhold funds for the enforcement of any decision of the Supreme Court, no matter how opposed I am to that decision.” She then added: “And I’m not saying that I’m opposed to this decision.” Arguing that Congress has no business interfering with the ruling unless it wants to amend the Constitution, Mrs. Pelosi said: “This is almost as if God has spoken.”

I’ll be the first to admit that Cindy seems to be a few fries short of a Happy Meal. But if her outrage prompted some people to begin to question the war, and if those people changed their minds and talked to other people, maybe in some way she can take credit for a portion of the anti-war sentiment which may actually wind up ending the war. It wasn’t that long ago that the media swallowed whole everything that came out of Bush. Perhaps in a small degree to people like Sheehan, they’ve finally come around and started asking the hard questions that should have been raised five years ago. Lucky for me, neither of my boys are in the service. But if one of them were to die in vain for Bush, I can’t say I wouldn’t be acting just like Cindy.

I happen to hold you in such high regard that I do think you’d be physically uncapable of being such a loud-mouthed, exploitatory buzzing nitwit as that, but I get your point. Though if any of my friends got lost over there (three of them are with the Norwegian special operatives in north afghanistan, with month-long trips to Iraq and two are in the Coalition medic forces) I can’t with my hand on my heart proclaim that I wouldn’t be reduced to a blubbering moron.
