Die a fucking death: LOUD flash adverts

I understand the need for advertisements to pay for the internet.

What I don’t understand is fucking loud flash adverts that disturb half the office.

It would make sense if these ads were for video games, or music, but the ones I’ve seen have been for business oriented products.

All a fucking loud noise is going to do is make me close the entire browser window as quickly as possible, and probably never return to that site. I am not going to stay long enough to see the ad, and its irritation factor even if I did would prevent me from EVER using that company or product.

Fucking. Stupid. Advertisers.

What exactly are you trying to achieve?

STOP THE FLASHTURBATION NOW!!!

I agree. Completely.

I hate Flash ads in general because it slows my already-pitiful connection rate to a crawl, which is another rant entirely.

But “flashturbation” made me giggle.

Has anyone tried checking their mail over AOL recently?
AOL flash commercials of AOL products on two separate screens. Oh Joy to the world!

I’m trying to think of a reason I would have the audio turned on when I’m on the internet in the first place.
Nope. Can’t do it.

It’s from http://www.webpagesthatsuck.com

kaylasdad - we have the sound on at work because we also use our monitors to watch TV channels (sound more exciting than it is, honest!) as well as video editing, and hearing bleep news alerts on the wires.

But for some reason, the flash ads are at least 1000x the decibels of all the other apps we use. So if your speakers/system volume are turned down to an acceptably quiet level so just you can hear your apps, the flash ads still blare out to the whole building.

Someone was trying to see the naked pictures of Elizabeth Hurley on the Sun (via Fark)?
